Feels, for personal reasons.
Animal Collective is actually my second favorite band, after Sonic Youth

I think Feels is by far their worst. Here Comes the Indian was the first I heard, and I like it a lot, but I voted for Sung Tongs because it's the one I listen to the most.

In my mind, they still haven't made their greatest album..

Yeah I must say--and I'm a big fan--that for some reason I tend to love their EP's even more than their albums. I have huge soft spots for WATER CURSES and PEOPLE especially. It's weird.

i agree with ATC on many many things, but i never got how someone can say that feels is not a great album...
so if you would like to explain why, id be much obliged

It's pretty good, I just don't like that many songs on it. I think it's disappointing for them.

The only album by them I've still been able to "get into" is DANSE MANATEE. I dnt know, dudes. It just sounds so grating on my ears. Am I wrong?

i was damn close between dansee manatee, here comes the indian, and sung tungs, but i went with here comes the indian. damn theyve made some good records these last years. only one i dont ever listen to is prolly feels.

I voted Strawberry Jam because it's the one I like the most songs on...

they really haven't made a GREAT record yet, so much potential in that band.

firstly, i must say straw jam is brilliant. I vote for campfire songs (a kinda tough record to find these days, but worth extra money) It is placid. It wisps around the walls and creeps into the back of my head like a soft parasite. There is something special about it's mode of recording (acousiti porch rock?>>) Spirit and Danse are next, but much respect for sung tongs. I like People a lot too. It's just the one song really but it's such a damn fine song. PEOPLE!

1. Yes, I almost voted CAMPFIRE SONGS myself. Damn good.

2. People is not just the one song... both versions are awesome, and the 2 other songs are great.

I put feels becuz it's the one I bought.

I think Danse Manatee is really great, probably in my Animal Collective Top 3. It sounds a bit like the second Liars albumfor me

It all happens so fast with animal collective. It's as if they are three or four different bands , all of them good

I went with Spirit. That one and Feels are the only albums by them I can listen to in full and be satisfied.

I went with Strawberry Jam. Next I'd probably put Sung Tongs and then Feels. After that I'd go with Here Comes the Indian and that's all I have from them.

Feels is the only one I own. It didn't interest me enough to wanna pursue their other things.

All I've listened to are Feels and Sung Tongs, but I'm downloading the others.

Yes. I appreciate Sung Tong's atmosphere, minimalism, simple melodies, songwriting, etc. I think Feels really went overboard on.. everything. Strawberry Jam went even more overboard in places but the songs are much better.

I'd end up disagreeing with everyone who jacks off to Person Pitch and thinks Pullhair Rubeye "sux", I'm sure.

This band sucks. Fuck their psychedelic music, it's not psychedelic at all.

Good melodies.

That's the only thing that really stands out to me. Lots of really really good vocal melodies.

Emasculated is an adjective i hate using about bands, but they so deserve it. Just, I dunno, insincere music.

Person Pitch is a really boring, LIFELESS album. Good melodies but all the instruments are boring and drab samples. No life to the album in the least. I just don't really like it.

I love Pullhair Rubeye though. Very minimal and beautiful.

So, going back to my original point.

I wouldn't post on an animal collective forum. Because all the posters probably share the same ridiculous thoughts that you do. "Oh, it's STUPID!" How can music be stupid? Because it's not safe music for safe people or simple music for simple people and it isn't easy to put in a box? I think that makes it smart -- at least smarter than the people who write it off cuz, "duh it's backwords so fkkin stoopidlol"

It contains all the best elements of an Animal Collective record. It's just, uh, backwards. Which doesn't really make me love the album any more but it works.

Anyway, Person Pitch is boring bullshit with some good melodies. It's "epic" only because it's really fucking long and boring. I'd take any Animal Collective-related project over Person Pitch, easily.

Person Pitch is not unlike eating the most sugary cereal you have ever eaten. Its so sweet, i could see how some people could be turned off by it. but it works for me, and for most people who appreciate pop music.

Plus-Tech Squeezebox and Motocompo are two of my all time favorite bands, and they're poppy beyond belief. I love pop...

I still find Person Pitch boring.
