mass of the fermenting dregs - world is yours...

Just got this. Album of the year so far! Haha.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/znke3v

44mb.

It's really fucking great. My favorite rock band around currently. They're just brilliant. Download this if you're disillusioned by the No Ages, Deerhunters, etc. and want to hear what a good rock band sounds like again.

Enjoy... And if you really like it, feel free to order a copy, even though it'll cost you a decent amount since you'll be ordering from Japan.

atsonicpark 01.28.2009 04:31 AM

It's ridiculous how good this album is. Gives me chills. I think I like it even more than their self-titled album. They have a new, better drummer on this one. How can I get people to download this one. Um... imagine if the Vivian Girls were Japanese but would rather play a weird mix of the Jesus Lizard of Husker Du music instead of overreverbed garage rock. There.

Everyneurotic, you should download this immediately...

http://www.myspace.com/motfd if people want to listen before they download..

There.

Death & the Maiden 01.28.2009 05:19 AM

Wow, this is great.

PAULYBEE2656 01.28.2009 07:03 AM

excellent excellent excellent!!!! star again adam!

atsonicpark 01.28.2009 07:56 AM

i figured some peopleon here would like it!

batreleaser 01.28.2009 08:08 PM

rock music is coming back though anyways; siltbreeze, blank dogs, the hospitals, thee oh sees, etc... but yeah i get what you mean, ill listen to it later. is it druggy? youd think someone was on some shitty coke or something to think of some ridiculous band name like that. druggy music is always better though.

atsonicpark 01.28.2009 09:09 PM

It has some psychadelic/shoegaze tendencies, mainly in the production, but I dunno if it's druggy.

I like the name. It's not nearly as bad as Hemp-Coaching Juicer, Core Milk, Green Milk on the Planet Orange, or Bump of Chicken as far as band names go.

atsonicpark 01.28.2009 09:44 PM

Let's not forget Hare-Brained Unity.

pbradley 01.28.2009 10:17 PM

Dig, Downloaded.

Inhuman 01.28.2009 11:14 PM

Thanks. This year I plan to keep up with 2009 albums from good sources, I lacked that in 08. Going to listen to them tomorrow morning!

atsonicpark 01.29.2009 06:03 PM

Glad people are receptive.

Now I just need to get everyneurotic to get it!!

Derek 01.29.2009 06:24 PM

I actually was gonna remind you that this was released. I remember coming across it on the release date and thought, "wonder if adam's heard it yet..."

atsonicpark 01.29.2009 06:25 PM

greedrex 01.29.2009 06:30 PM

atsonicpark 01.29.2009 06:32 PM

greedrex 01.29.2009 06:34 PM

wellcharge 01.31.2009 07:47 PM

atsonicpark 02.02.2009 04:57 PM

This expires tomorrow if anyone still wants it.

Derek 02.02.2009 05:05 PM

yeah this is a lot better than their previous release. Good contender for my 09 top ten probably.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 08:16 PM

still epic, amazing album, put this on again yesterday and was blown away.

here's a video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQc-2bBmdfw

more awesome moments in that song than most band's full albums.. that part where it stops and they let their amps feedback and then the bass comes back in? fuck.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 08:20 PM

oh, new-ish video i hadn't seen, this is awesome!:

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 08:29 PM

Fuck yeah, I like this. I'd take a re-upload as well, if you'd be so inclined. Can't find any downloads.

I would rep you, but I apparently haven't repped enough people in the last year.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 08:55 PM

no need to rep.. just, thanks for listening to me and hope you enjoy.

They rock!

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 09:05 PM

Jesus H Fuck! Thank you!!! I want to go to your house and borrow your CDs and not return them.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 09:08 PM

haha. well most my cd's are burnt copies nowadays, because I sold a lot of my actual copies a while back because I was supposed to move out in august. still ,if you stole all my cd-r's, you'd have to steal about 47 spindles full (which all are completely full, with about 55 cd-r's, some with 105 cd-r's in them).. some with more than one album on the same disc. so that's a lot of shit I think.

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 09:14 PM

Yikes. Thats upwards of 3000+ cds. Hm, how many of those are AMAZING?

Do you ever want to get rid of stuff like that?

I want to get a new computer, and I debate about whether I'd even bother moving most of the music I have over. I sorta like the idea of starting fresh, and if theres an album that haunts me badly to get back, then I will.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 09:17 PM

you've got a good point, I don't know how many are amazing, I think I've gotten rid of most of the stinkers and got it down to stuff I actually listen to though. I guess having OCD doesn't help, nor does the occasional person going "hey do you have that obscure album by ANALLY DISEMBOWLED ELEPHANT CHRIST [actual band]? I need it dude."

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 09:24 PM

Ah, yeah, I guess thats a useful position to have. Youre a walking catalog. And theres always the chance that'll happen either way, something so obscure goes through your fingers. But...at least thats a benefit to having the internet. If you look hard enough, you'll find it. Or just go to Japan, they have everything.

Having OCD prevents you from parting with things? Do you rearrange your stuff very much? I always want to re-organize my stuff based on the eras of my life, a chronology of phases. But I live in such a pigpen holocaust, its impossible to start.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 09:27 PM

All my stuff is organized by genre (or subgenre.. or sub-subgenre), and then alphabetized. My OCD makes me feel like I can't be without it. Like, if I get into this band, and I like them beyond a certain degree, I need to get everything. Really been a bitch with stuff like Merzbow, though I was happy to complete my Sun City Girls (and related projects) collection a while back, which was probably 200 albums, all combined.

But, honestly, if I lost all my CD's in a fire or something, it wouldn't bother me too much. I dunno. It's just stuff, really. I try not to invest too many emotions into "stuff", as much as I love it, because.. well.. it's stuff. It's cheap plastic. It's replaceable. It's meaningless.

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 09:33 PM

Sure, but it does a good job of feeding into the time we have. What else are we gonna do?

Did you ever find your habits change from before you were ever in a relationship and then during/after ?

I used to do things like that (exactly that with the organization of cds, and was obsessive like that about the first handful of bands that I liked), and a few things here or there like I could only have the TV volume on an even number, but after being in a relationship for a while that stuff kinda stopped. I guess it was because I moved in with him into this disaster of a room with nowhere to put my stuff/organize it. Its been that way ever since.

atsonicpark 10.20.2009 09:37 PM

Actually, I mainly just don't listen to stuff that reminds me of her, currently. Which is a LOT of stuff that I like a LOT that I'm currently not listening to.

alteredcourse 10.20.2009 09:42 PM

Ouch. Thats pretty heartbreaking. What can I say.

alteredcourse 10.21.2009 12:12 AM

This album is fucking awesome, though. Many thanks to asp. I love an album whose vocals blend into the craziness of everything else so well that you cant even detect a personality, cause it just comes together as a sound, an idea. So good !

atsonicpark 10.21.2009 03:23 AM

:).

acousticrock87 10.21.2009 05:28 AM

This CD is fucking awesome. I went to get the first CD too, but I already had it in iTunes. I must have gotten it here before. Both CDs are great, though.

And that's exactly how I feel about my stuff. Even the CDs I've bought, I invest a lot of money into but wouldn't be horribly upset if they were lost. They're just fun to have if I can have them.

But actually, if a band has record numbers in the hundreds, even up beyond 20, I seriously won't let myself get into them. It's too much nasty work digging up random albums all the time. I still only have like half of Jandek's stuff. I think that's literally the only reason I don't listen to some bands.

atsonicpark 10.21.2009 05:33 AM

Hhaha. I think I like the challenge. It always sucks though if I end up not enjoying the band as much as I thought I would (see Nurse with Wound).

Jandek was a huge chore, getting all that stuff... The most ridiculous was my brief flirt with Wolf Eyes, I downloaded, traded, or bought well over 100 albums in the span of a few months. Burnt myself out on them forever, though they weren't THAT good to begin with honestly.

Last band I went insane over was Charalambides (a good 50 releases) and all side projects (a good 100 releases combined).

.........ANYWAY.

Yeah, Fermenting Dregs just rules, don't they? Ridiculously awesome band, more people need to know about them.
