Snow Day UK!!!
My boss just called as I was clearing snow from the driveway and said not to bother even trying to go in.
I'm gonna go build a snowman! ![]() |
I wish my boss would do the same, but it's quicker to walk than taking any bus or train, so I'll have to go to work in the end. SNOW!!!
|
Me walking to work too -in the snow! I'm gonna take piccies too.
|
It looks great outside. I like the snow.
|

ahh snow, some of that would be nice just about now, here it's expected to be in the 40s for the next few days
|
I walked into a snowman this morning :D (It was on Chelsea Bridge)
Battersea Park looks beautiful with all the snow - like a winter wonderland scene. We're being sent home at 1pm today - yay. it took me 1h40mins to walk to work (just over a four mile journey) - not bad at all really, considering. |
Day off for me! :D
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! |
3 mile trek (!) in just over an hour for me
we're closing at 2 too so its an afternoon out with my camera snow doesn't taste like it used to |
There ain't no snow here at the moment.
I hope for Wednesday in the mountains though, since our boss announced a company ski trip into High Tatras from Wednesday evening to Saturday. Yay, a three-day work week, that's what I like !!! |
Sonic Bebs - what were the roads/pavement like on your journey? There was a lot of ice around on my way in, meaning that sometimes I was forced to waddle like a baby duck. It's also started to snow again - I've just looked out of the window here at work. Looks like we'll be having this weather for at least another 24 hours.
Nefeli - I'll post my snow pix later on :) |

PSH that's surfing weather here..... |

pavements were about half-way-up-my-shins with powder (and i'm 6"5) but the roads were icey and slushy i just waded through the powder but most people were staggering around the road sliding in front of cars (who were pretty slidey) bbc6 said another foot of snow this afternoon! |
|
my boss is never one to turn down an opportunity to "work from home" so i'm at home today too.
Check out what I've been up to, pic's a bit small because it's was taken on a phone ![]() |
I walked back from Melly's house last night in a fucking blizzard. I passed two joggers along the way. The buffoons. I finally got home, looked in the mirror and was confronted with the sight of a bearded snowman (or Kurt Russell in The Thing, as my flatmate informed me).

Where abouts were those photos taken blunderbuss?
|
They're just down the road from Esher. I tell ya, you can't move for Black Flag fans in Esher.
|
I think it can safely be said that this amount of snowfall would have shut down exactly zero schools or businesses in this area.
Enjoy the novelty; when it happens all the time, it gets old. |
Here in La France, my school was not operational due to the fact that all buses were cancelled so about 15 out of 500 of them eventually turned up.
Was the same shit about a month ago. This is not usual where i live just above Paris. People here not really good at planning and dealing with snow. I nearly crashed on my way early this morning. bah. |
we have a small spattering of snow on a sheet of ice. i did a full .360 in my car this morning driving out of my drive.. small back roads lethal and still dumbfucks fly past and overtake you doing 80-100 kmph!!! stupid dumb fucks!!
in wexford we dont get snow too often, just cold cold rain! |
|
Looks like an average winter day to me.

It's the most snow in the south of England in 6 years |
It hardly ever snows in Liverpool, because we're a coastal city, but it's actually been coming down and sticking ALL DAY. I hope I don't have to go into work tomorrow..
|
just feel lucky that it isn't ice.
that's all we seem to get anymore. |

Aw, it's bucketing down here now.
I went to the shops a human dressed in wooly clothes and came back an abominable snow man. I love snow, I wish we got this every winter - the fluffy stuff, not the icey treacherous footpaths of doom. Still, while it's easy to enjoy when you've got a snug home, it must be particular hell for the homeless folks :( |
Snow pix!:

|
If i dont make it in tomorrow i may get the sack. My bleedin boss said "Well, its your decision..." this morning when i called from the train station with no trains, no buses. My decision my arse.
If only Sarah Palin were here. She'd know what to do ![]() |
the trains seemed to be runninng fine this evening, plus the snow isn't falling....looks like i'll have to go to work tomorrow. shit.
|
The highs were in the 70's in Orange County today.
|
I bloody hate snow, it took me but a couple of hours this morning to remember that. It's got all pressed into the paths and now it's hard ice that you slip around on, I can bearly leave my flat without slipping over. Beurgh!!
