Inade aren't horrible, I guess you just have to be in the right mood for it... of course... there's a lot going on in it compared to most dark ambient stuff.

Usually I'm the first person to say "hey, there's already a thread on [topic]." But in light of there being 500 threads dedicated to Animal Collective's average-at-best new album, I'd rather the board be flooded with people repeating themselves reccomending the same ol' black metal bands. Wouldn't you?

Weakling - Dead as Dreams
Ved Buens Ende - Written in Waters (probably my favourite metal album; all the members have have been in other well known BM bands - Dodheimsgard, Arcturus, Ulver, Virus)
Fimbulwinter - Servants of Sorcery (ignore the fact that Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir was their guitarist/drummer/vocalist - this is the worst produced primitive thing I've heard)

Windir is another great band.
