mostly to see what you and atsonicpark have to say and out of boredom. since i moved to new york i have posted less than i used to.

i'm not ragging on this messageboard, but this is the most i have ever posted on one messageboard. i'm just not a messageboard person.

because I do not have many sonic youth loving friends, even though I have lots of music lovin friends. And because this place, the only BB/forum I visit BTW, seems to attrack idiosyncratic nutbags like myself

anyway, i doubt most people have one easy reason. it is probably a combination of things like habit, muscle memory- which someone already mentioned.

there was an original motivation to post here - presumably interest in sonic youth, and following that music in general. this board brings a lot of different people with varying viewpoints from around the world together. that is kinda cool. I learn about music, movies, shows, books etc. And get to laugh and funny posts.

why do you post here sarram?

I started (edit: under my alias, a couple of weeks ago) on this forum because of insomnia/girl trouble. Now I do it because I like posting and reading here.

just waiting for cantankerous to return so i can masturbate again... cantank, if you are reading this, my balls are now purple. i hope yr happy.

I like you guys, that's why! The stuff that goes on here gets hilarious some times.
It's also pretty neat getting stimmulating discussion of music. Like almost all the music I decide to seek out and listen to I get from here.

Because there's enough totally cool people on here that I can overlook the totally uncool ones.

I am kind of nauseous but

ironically its not usualy when they talk about music because people get protective.

At least that's why I stay. When I started posting here, I was at an isolated office job the summer between high school and college, had just gotten out of a 1.5 year relationship, and had literally no friends left from before the relationship. This place practically saved my life.

Well... I'm down to 0.65 posts a day since I stopped visiting here back in October, so I probably don't qualify as a regular poster.

But I've come crawling back here like the proverbial undesexed tom cat that's humped and faught every other cat in the neighbourhood and now I just wanna relax, be fed and tend to my wounds....

I [sometimes] post here because it's all cool. You can get inspired by the profound posters, laugh at the witty posters, share in the abuse of moron posters and unlike fucking Facebook - if you return after an extended absence, you ain't bombarded with a shitload of friend requests, pointless 'What character from Star Trek is most like you' quizzes and other crap that the flabby part of my friends list tend to send me....

All my fetish and BDSM and porno posts are elsewhere. It just never goes down too well here.

This is probably not the kind of purity you were talking about. Though its something that I've noticed.
