if you are on the south-east side in a town like Paramount than they will show up soon, but if you are just up the street in North Long Beach or worse, in Watts/South Central or Cudahy/Huntington Park, well then.. you might be shit out of luck. it is a drastic problem because in Los Angeles we have all gotten way to accustomed to shooting at each other..

actually watts is like most municipalities in incorporated Los Angeles and LA county, it is become "hispanic" (i use the term because it is not only Mexicans, but Panamanians, Nicaraguans, Salvadorians, Hondurans, Guatemalans, etc etc) in fact, upwards of 30-50% as of yet.

this is the shifting demographics of los angeles

I got to church in Vernon/South Central, and as little as ten years ago it was still predominantly a black neighborhood, now it is an immigrant neighborhood, perhaps only 15-20% black which is not much higher than the average of most cities..

the residual affect is still there, I go to an Ethiopian church which was founded there because it was then a black neighborhood, and the three churchs immediately adjacent are also black churches, though there are few black folk in the direct vicinity anymore..

florida's not that bad. also, the hurricanes are really not that bad at all. i lived there for twenty years and have been in only 2 bad hurricanes.

so are the hundreds of natural springs that are everywhere in north and central florida. In the event of nuclear holocaust, or pollution running rampant, florida may possibly one of the best places for survival. Dont hate on my state.

in that same lifetime, there have been nearly a DOZEN terribly destructive hurricanes in the gulf states, including several which practically destroyed WHOLE cities..

and also, didn't you know that building codes have become so well adjusted that your homes, buildings and roadways are much much much more likely to survive an earthquake than a hurricane..

you can build against earthquakes, but a fucking storm surge is another matter entirely...

i was in miami for hurricane andrew, and andrew was a stronger storm than Katrina. the only reason katrina did anything was because it hit a city that was 6 ft BELOW sea level.

florida has building codes as well. the worst thing about hurricanes these days are floods. they cause water damage to houses, and make soil loose enough for trees to fall over.

as for cats, my hatred for cats is simple. Im allergic. I dont care about any animal that can cause that much misery. Although, I dont think any animal deserves to be abused.
