gualbert 04.22.2009 01:53 PM

Darklands was my favorite JAMC album.
I used to think Honey's Dead is good.
I never enjoyed Psychocandy.
Now I can't stand any of their music anymore.

SuperCreep 04.22.2009 02:02 PM

I really like Honey's Dead! Automatic is pretty good too. They should have stopped after HD.

I wish Wish was the last Cure album. heh.

I definitely rate it above Sweet Sixteen, which I really do find quite unlistenable nowadays, although I probably prefer Accelerator overall. To be honest I think the last really worthwhile album of theirs was Cats & Dogs. I just put Thank You as their last one because of 'Map of the City', which I've always had a bit of a soft spot for. But yeah, after Cats & Dogs I pretty much lost interest apart from the odd single here and there.

Toilet & Bowels 04.22.2009 07:29 PM

i've never understood why sweet sixteen gets so much negative sentiment, i think it's amazing

demonrail666 04.22.2009 08:27 PM

I always think that Sweet Sixteen sounds like they'd been reading their own (bad) reviews and decided to create an album based on them. I can definitely see how it's a love/hate album though.

Silent Dan Speaks 04.22.2009 10:26 PM

Weezer-Pinkerton. In my mind they broke up after it.

atsonicpark 04.22.2009 11:46 PM

mars volta - that tape they recorded their first ever song to. That should've been their final recording.

That was their last album, unless they decide to record a new one.

that tape was actually a 70 minutes jam including 178 guitar solos and 15000 hz vocals. it is conceptually based on ouijda boards, color-blind ducks and astroshooter flippers. i heard you could recognize the riff from nowhere girl somewhere around 27:53 !! but then again they play all the successions of notes possible at 480bpm so you could hear anything, of course

lechaoscestmoi 04.23.2009 03:57 AM

you don't like 20 Jazz Funk Greats or Heathen Earth?

atsonicpark 04.23.2009 11:16 AM

Oh actually I love Heathen Earth. But that was a live recording (live in studio to a minimal audience... but still). So, I guess I mean, D.O.A. should've been the last fully-produced studio recording. I find 20 Jazz Funk Greats boring actually.

PAULYBEE2656 04.23.2009 11:30 AM

throbbing gristle are about the only band i know of thaat their "greatest hits" album is probably their best...... funny that!

Nas-Illmatic (obvious one there)

US Maple-Long Hair in Three Stages (sang phat editor is meh and all the others suck)

Husker Du-Zen Arcade

SPK-First 3 7 inches

wu tang didnt make much good full group efforts after 36 chambers, but you have to remember liquid swords, only built for cuban linx, supreme clientele, return to the 36 chambers, ad iron man are all just as much full wu tang albums as 36 chambers. those are all clasics too.

atsonicpark 04.23.2009 03:38 PM

"Talker" is my favorite album by U.S. Maple.
