Of course the interview before that was shit.

I thought the interview was kinda funny actually, at least Tre Cool's part in it, the part about the sandals cracked me up.

To someone else: Yes, This Is A Serious Thread. Honestly, I loved American Idiot, and I'm very interested in how this new one has turned out.

Say what you will about Green Day's music (probably the same negative shit I said about them in high school) but they do, at times, have a noticeable bit of Hüsker Dü in their sound.

I loved American Idiot, probably their only album I'd listen to all the time, but I've heard this new one is just more of the same and in a bad way, so who knows.

Husker Du in their sound, though, uh.. Where? I don't get it. (Yes I've heard Husker Du obviously.)

They covered "Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely" which sounded particularly natural for them.

Not really, I think a lot of punks thought they were lukewarm sell outs by the time they got nationally recognized. From the interviews I've read/heard, Husker Du weren't that concerned about being typically punk anyway.

I'm talking more about the "Green Day" sort of punks, which I guess includes a lot of the 90's emo bands like Cap'n Jazz and Jawbreaker, though those bands are infinitely better than Green Day.

the album sucks. probably the only cool thing about the album is that you can take apart the plastic cd case, remove the booklet and back cover, and replace a broken one to a kickass album that had a crack on the front for such a long time and now it doesn't bother you anymore.
