Eminem observation

The same guy who made the chilling anti-beef anthem "Toy Soldiers" is now in a full on diss-track battle with Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.

Do you wat me to say that again slower? Mariah Carey. And Nick Cannon.

Kylerobert 07.31.2009 03:08 PM

Haha...He went hard on her in that "Warning" diss song

Because somebody had to.

godsfavoritedog 07.31.2009 03:25 PM

I've never really listened to the guy, having been well past my very brief rap phase by the time he burst upon the scene. What little I heard of him, he seemed to be decent ... annoying voice but clever enough lyrics. Just really not my thing. But this? Man, I dunno ... it seems so fucking junior high. Who's buying it? His fans from back in the day (who've gotta be at least in their late 20's by now) or a new generation of fans?

Kylerobert 07.31.2009 03:54 PM

It's hip hop. He took a jab at her...she shot back...he shoots back.
That's the way it is. I find it very entertaining.
I might be bias because I think eminem is awesome.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 07.31.2009 04:03 PM

Tight track. I like the part about him cumming on her stomach.

Kylerobert 07.31.2009 04:05 PM

Pre-Cum in fact

jerf 07.31.2009 05:04 PM

eminem? what is this, 2003?

he was funny for like a month in junior high. after that, his shit got old.

Derek 07.31.2009 05:23 PM

I think people forget that he made two albums of genius at the start of his mainstream career. Great beats with some amazing, witty, intelligent rhymes.

And now he's just insulting his own intelligence

atsonicpark 07.31.2009 06:01 PM

Nah, Relapse was great. Not as good as his first 2, of course. Eminem Show was quite good too. He only has one TERRIBLE album.

Eminem is awesome. I know all the words to his first 2 albums. I listen to him all the time.

JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK!!!!!!!!!

Derek 07.31.2009 06:18 PM

My favourite Eminem line is in 'Role Model' when he says, "How can I be white? I don't even exist."

Relapse had... some good tracks in it but I thought most of it was garbage. Still looking forward to Relapse 2 of course.

Oh, I know. It's just that some people were completely insulting his entire career which isn't fair.

atsonicpark 07.31.2009 06:20 PM

On Relapse, he really stepped up his game. Some of his best rapping ever. I'll agree there are some garbage tracks, but he improved 100-fold from his last album, so perhaps I'm being really forgiving here. But I liked it.

Role Model's always been my favorite track... "I get a clean shave, bathe, go to a rave, die from an overdose -- then dig myself outta my grave. My middle finger won't go down, how do I wave? And this is how we're supposed to teach kids how to behave?" brilliant.

KILLED BOTH, SMEARED BLOOD ON A WHITE BRONCO [we did it!]. My mind won't work if my spine don't jerk, I slapped Garth Brooks out of his rhinestone shirt. Haha.

Derek 07.31.2009 06:28 PM

I agree he improved from Encore with Relapse, it was bound to happen. I just thought his voice got extremely grating on some tracks ("3am", "My Mom") and some of the beats were terrible ("Bagpipes From Baghdad" and some other ones I'm not remembering). It's not a bad album by any stretch though.

Well since age 12 I've felt like I'm someone else cause I hung my original self from the top bunk with a belt.

Anyone else find it kind of funny how on the Marshall Mathers LP, it goes from the frightening "Kim" to the comedic "Under the Influence"? I just thought the transition was really amusing.

noisereductions 07.31.2009 06:29 PM

I'm a fan. But RELAPSE is pretty terrible. Search for my other thread about it if you care to.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 06:56 PM

I was hoping he'd go after the hip-hop community, the soulja boys, etc. but he didnt'... instead he went after the same fucking people you see on e! news... what's up with him...?

atsonicpark 07.31.2009 07:04 PM

He knows if he insults another rapper, Hayley might get shot or molested.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 07:10 PM

He still needs to go after Soulja Boy... I don't think Soulja boy would be ablet o do shit, its not likes em is above it.

noisereductions 07.31.2009 07:10 PM

That's what's kind of weird. I mean you want to make a comeback? You want to raise eyebrows? You want to prove that you've still got it? Then call out Lil Wayne, or Ghostface, or Clipse, or DOOM or someone who's fucking unstoppable right now. That would be ballsy and impressive. Not taking popshots at Mariah. Yawn.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 07:13 PM

You hear ghostface is making an r&b album...?
Nah Em respects Wayne.. allegedly

Green Magnesium 07.31.2009 07:39 PM

Nick Cannon's fine as fuck.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 07:46 PM

Go away

atsonicpark 07.31.2009 07:50 PM

who...

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 07:51 PM

The complimenter of Nick Cannon.

atsonicpark 07.31.2009 07:53 PM

no, I know.
But who's nick cannon?

Anngella 07.31.2009 08:23 PM

Here's what he's replying to:

EDIT: Here's the remix with a music video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbXSlm-SCK0

Eminem's is better/more hilarious, obviously.

I was obsessed with Eminem from age 11 to about age 13 and I agree with atsonicpark - his first two albums are amazing. I haven't heard any full albums past The Eminem Show but when comparing the "hit" songs from Encore vs. those of Relapse, the latter definitely comes out on top.

Also lol @ Nick Cannon being the host of America's Got Talent.

Yeah. The title is incredible. Whatever. I'm okay with him trying something different. He's made a lot of solid albums. And he's a weird dude. And I respect it. Same way I feel about the Lil Wayne rock album. Both will just be interesting asides to their discographies. Like 808s AND HEARTBREAK really.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 09:15 PM

Agreed. Thank you for being the rare rap fan understanding of creativity.

Who cares what he did more than a decade ago? It just makes what he's doing seem even stupider.

Derek 07.31.2009 10:19 PM

But people were replying like he's always been terrible, so that's why I said that.

viewtiful_alan 07.31.2009 10:50 PM

Relapse, at the very least, is Sonically amazing thanks to Dre of course.

atsonicpark 07.14.2011 09:09 PM

I'm not acid rap but I rap on acid.

louder 07.15.2011 07:24 AM

That's actually an Esham diss.

Esham created a really unique, trippy production style. He coined it "acid rap" on both his own and the NaTaS (his rap group) albums.

Ironically enough, Dre actually went on to rip off Esham's production entirely for a few tracks - for a harder, more horrific sound - he even ripped off a few of Esham's most common lines. (ex: New Jack's theme from ECW )

Esham is black as fuck bromo!!

Both ICP and Eminem were heavily influenced (to put it lightly) by him - FACT.

Eminem actually used to be a huge ICP fan. Back when everything was still local. The feud began when he was throwing a release party (for Slim Shady LP i believe) and put ICP's and Esham's name on the bottom of the flyers with a small "(maybe)" underneath both of their names.

He approached J at St Andrew's (a church converted into a venue/club in Detroit) one night and showed him the flyer. J got pissed because he was using their name to promote his shit without either his nor Shaggy's permission. They had never even met prior.

There's even a rumor about Em's tattoo of his daughter Haley. Apparently it used to be a Riddlebox (or was it Ringmaster?), but once the feud started - he had it professionally removed and altered.

I like Eminem, Esham and ICP. I'm just telling what I know from living around these parts/personal research.

SpaceCadetHayden 07.16.2011 12:29 AM

tl:dr

i was referring to Eminem.

The Watcher 07.16.2011 12:29 AM

Who gives a fuck........

SpaceCadetHayden 07.16.2011 12:29 AM

And both of them are boring. Give me some Flocka.
