stopping SSRI medication "cold-turkey" is VERY BAD for you. you know those disclaimers that come with them saying "may cause suicide"? it's from the rebound effect of people that stop them all at once. yr serum serotonin levels crash.

I haven't had a prozac in 2 weeks. Need to go fill em. Guess I do feel more suicidal. I'm too much of a pussy to actually go through with it though.

how long had you been taking them for? in my experience you really only tend to mellow out properly after at least a month or so. I tend to feel better after only a week, but there are still ups and downs until a month or so has passed of taking them daily.

Though I've never had any such bad experiences from just stopping mine fr months or years after 6 months or more. (it's been an on and off thing for about 12 years) Maybe I'm lucky or just not prone to that happening.
