i tried to read mein kampf once but it was too boring and pretentious to read. i don't like it when every page in a book screams 'i like myself so much i wish i could just fuck my own butt all day'

^I bought a copy to read about 6 months ago and I haven't even started it yet. I do 99% of my reading in public and that's not a book you read in public.

On-topic: Yesterday there was this panel/billboard truck on the interstate with a photo of an aborted 7 week fetus on a quarter with a picture of Obama under it with the quote "I'm a devout Christian". I literally had to fight the urge to run the truck off the road. This kind of ignorance and intolerance in American society is horrifying. The Bush administration NEVER received this kind of, frankly, disrespectful treatment (Being called a liar while addressing Congress, really? Bush deserved that. Hell, he deserved a whole lot worse but he never got it) And I'm going to agree with Suchfriends on this one, I think a whole lot of it is because of leftover racism, especially in the southern United States.

But, I've heard the sound of millions of spiders, trapped behind a wall. It was so loud I was woken up by it. I had moved all my bedroom furniture to the middle of the room so that I could paint, and my friend was on the couch, so I was on the floor. I woke up to the sound of their little feet scratching away through this half-centimeter gap where the wall tried to join a ledge, this faint but multiplied scratching, scratch scratch scratch. At first I had no idea it was spiders, until I crept up to the wall, where I saw all their little legs, all at once, trying to crawl through. Jailbreak!
I remember it pretty well because of how fucking instantly terrified I was. I pretty much choked my friend out of her sleep with my sudden hosing of aerosol furniture polish all along the crack, screaming.

I'm all tough when there's just one or a couple spiders hanging around.

People accept the practically Machiavellian tactics of the political machines of today because of the deep seeded racism. People who are only slightly or casually racist still are racist. many people are not "i hate niggers" racist but still have negative feelings, sentiments and associations to black people. its a shame really.. the funny thing to me is that Obama is as much a corrupt, lying scumbag as any other president, but because he is black everybody wants to call it out.
