Goths.

Are they an endangered species? There's so few in my town now, I rarely see them.

not during the day so much anyways.

i think goths have kind of evolved into those annoying twats at clubs that wear pvc and massive high boots and fairy wings etc.

ni'k 11.26.2009 05:26 PM

fairy wings went out in the 90's.

i think there has been some mergance with emo/metal.

wellcharge 11.26.2009 05:50 PM

my sister tries to be a goth and it has spread to my 11 year old cousin now

tell that to the fucktards i see wearing them sometimes.

notyourfiend 11.26.2009 06:08 PM

mall goths grew up to become emo kids and later indie scenesters.

ploesj 11.26.2009 06:09 PM

i don't see any emo kids these days. they were all over the place last year. don't tell me all those 'suicide attempts' were all successful!

notyourfiend 11.26.2009 06:18 PM

no, now they are all scene kids. they wear the same studded belts and eyeliner, just with different band t-shirts and a lil more color.

just as long as they have financial support they do what they are told.

demonrail666 11.26.2009 08:01 PM

There's a goth couple that live a few houses down from me. Absolutely lovely people. I've no idea whether their parents are paying their rent or if they work at Urban Outfitters but they're both always really nice to me and so far as I'm aware have never caused any trouble whatsoever. Goths are nice people, it strikes me.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 11.26.2009 08:05 PM

they're wearing bat-wings or some black demon-wings now. i don't have any problem with that because it's mostly attractive chicks who wear them. *makes whip noises*

akprodr 11.27.2009 01:59 PM

Ain't seen any in forever!

But, here she is, my favorite. Was she the original? I've read that she was--not sure..

automatic bzooty 11.27.2009 02:31 PM

siouxsie was so hot.

notyourfiend 11.27.2009 02:44 PM

the men of Bauhaus and her are considered to be the original goth punkers. or so i think.

but we all know that the real original goth was edgar allen poe

Antagon 11.27.2009 03:19 PM

Well, there is a local goth scene were I live. In fact I'm part of it but it kind of gets tiresome. Most of those "goths" around me are in fact just people that want to be popular somehow (Just for the looks, no substance). And then there are those "old goths" of course. They tend to take themselves way too seriously and there's a lot of elitism among them. I do have to admit though that it's alwasy nice to have a chat about music with them. If you talk about ASF or Bauhaus those bat-winged posers will give you a strange look.

Keeping It Simple 11.27.2009 03:30 PM

I really like Goth music and owned albums by Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance, Fields of the Nephilim, The Cult, Joy Division, The Mission, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Cocteau Twins, but I never advertised that fact by dressing like one. I suppose I was a closet Goth.

I know many goths who do not dress in fancy clothes and they are accepted as well (Not by everyone but as I said before: Those who define themselves only through the way they dress like are just ignorant posers)
