In all honesty, it is nice to connect with people, but it suffers from being so goddamn packed with features. That's why I like Facebook Lite, there's not as much bullshit. Facebook is fine in low doses. Being all Luddite about it is pretty poisonous, as well.

I think it's only really poisonous if the person slagging off facepain spends an awful lot of time talking to people (however obliquely) on an internet messageboard. "Fuck talking to people I actually know online, I can't be a cunt to them and still talk to them".

I find facebook moderately useful. Keeping in touch, looking at girls - it's all gravy.

when looking at pics of girls in the presence of girls, i can only comment on the cleavage, as opposed to staring at it for more than 2 minutes. staring at it with one eye open, switching eyes, trying to trick my brain into thinking there is more cleavage than what is actually visible. the possibilities are endless.

I think there is also the danger of being a constant twat about it. Fuck, my own mom says "this is going on Facebook" after taking a good picture but I'm not about to mock her over it. In every way, this is same hype-nonsense discourse carried over from myspace.

I don't really like what facebook has done for communication. It's turned the world into a bunch of e-stalkers and e-extroverts.

Once you stop letting it mold you and stop reading the feeds and stop posting your thoughts of the day and what you're doing, you've essentially isolated yourself from your society.

At least as far as people my age go.

I had to quit Facebook when I realized that everyone I ever talked to on the site were people I already talked to in real life. Waste of time.
