Green_mind 01.06.2010 06:27 AM

I've been suspended on full pay anyway, I'm not bothered. Dustbin men have neglected their duties this morning though.

_slavo_ 01.06.2010 06:35 AM

It's a national holiday here, so I'm off anyway.

Lots lots of snow in town as well.

Same, but no snow here.

knox 01.06.2010 06:41 AM

does anybody decide not to shave their legs because of the snow?

nicfit 01.06.2010 06:43 AM

You mean girls, or boys too?

Genteel Death 01.06.2010 06:47 AM

It's one of those days that makes me regret living so central cause all the people who live in Nowhereshire didn't show up.

Green_mind 01.06.2010 06:49 AM

sure, I was shaving my legs this morning and I got a little nick.

do you wear various tights?
i try to but it always feels strange so i just put jeans on.

stu666 01.06.2010 08:50 AM

'snow work for me either!

SONIC GAIL 01.06.2010 09:01 AM

I wanted it to snow so bad here. The weather channel has teased us saying it just might snow in Florida. I know it's not real snow, but we can't even drive in the rain. I want snow. I don't want to work. WEll there are always hurricane days in August I guess.

floatingslowly 01.06.2010 09:09 AM

I really don't want to hear any complaints. on xmas eve, we had a 100 year blizard. 100 fucking years.

tomorrow, it's going to be fucking 2 degrees. 2!

that's -16.6666667 degrees in c.

stop yr crying, pantywaists.

SONIC GAIL 01.06.2010 09:13 AM

with the wind chill it was 21 farenheight (I can't spell that) here yesterday. That is not right down here. I have to actually wear socks!!We are adapted to 105 degrees.

i usually wear opaque black tights, sometimes dark blue ones... they start to annoy me at the end of the day but i like wearing skirts and dresses way too much. today i have to play a movie star (haha) and were on an inside location so tights aren't necssary...

if there's anything i'd never wear it's white tights (they make your les look very strange and fat) or flesh-coloured pantyhose, uggghhhh!

knox 01.06.2010 10:13 AM

i want navy thighs that are as thick as KIS where can I find them?

I am laughing so very hard right now.

Derek 01.06.2010 11:28 AM

There was 5cm of snow here... not enough to stay off.

Rob Instigator 01.06.2010 11:49 AM

big bootay is great for keeping warm. Ice T is never cold.

loubarret 01.06.2010 12:02 PM

Snow=melt=water=freeze=ice=crash into trees with bike

Keeping It Simple 01.06.2010 12:28 PM

I went for a ramble through the local forest today. In some places the snow was over a foot deep. The landscape did look breathtaking under all that snow. It felt like I was in Lapland.

demonrail666 01.06.2010 12:31 PM

the chip shop a few doors from me had to close because, according to a sign on its door, '2 cold 2 open'.

The Deep Blue chip shop in my town was open. In fact I went straight there after my ramble for fish cake and chips. :)

demonrail666 01.06.2010 12:39 PM

i just don't understand how a chip shop can be '2 cold 2 open'. I'd have thought it'd be a sight warmer than most other shops, least of all the sweet shop next door, which managed to open as normal.

floatingslowly 01.06.2010 12:43 PM

you should be careful. people that walk through the woods get raped.

Glice 01.06.2010 12:44 PM

Mrs Wah on our road seems to be doing a good business in chips.

In fact, fuck it. Time for a new thread.

demonrail666 01.06.2010 12:48 PM

i couldn't believe it, i went out with the plan of getting a couple of saveloys and some chips and returned home armed only with a supersize twix and a packet of McCoys. Hardly the same.

The beauty of snowy days is, it highlights who employs the laziest workers in town, and who employs the hardest workers. Half of the town's stores were closed with signs on their front windows saying: "Closed due to staff shortages as a result of the adverse weather conditions", yet the remaining half were all open as normal.

Glice 01.06.2010 01:01 PM

You could argue that those jobs with the highest pay cause the greatest absence. Usually, the higher the pay, the more likely they are to have a car/ live far away, the harder it is to get to work.

I think it depends on where people have to travel from rather than whether they can be bothered.

The local Wimpy was closed, and I know for a fact the staff all live locally. The manager just lives around the corner from me!

demonrail666 01.06.2010 01:15 PM

would you be motivated to walk through a foot of snow to earn a pittance serving brown derby's to bearded old women?

floatingslowly 01.06.2010 01:34 PM

if my wife can walk to the bar during The Greatest Snowstorm Ever Seen, then I see no reason why the Whimpy staff can't get out to make hamburgers (or whatever the hell it is they do there).

Yeah, I mean McDonald's was trading as normal today. Boy, are the staff in Wimpy going to get it when it's open again.

Rob Instigator 01.06.2010 01:47 PM

what is a saveloy?

demonrail666 01.06.2010 01:59 PM

that's a good question

knox 01.06.2010 02:01 PM

reading this thread one gets the impression all of you just eat crap.
