found dead in his home. 29 years old.

not good.

Genteel Death 01.13.2010 04:49 PM

It's been comfirmed, he is dead. Never been too much of a fan, but that's tragic. RIP

Derek 01.13.2010 05:02 PM

Much like Jack Rose, his career was only beginning to shine... sad stuff.

SYRFox 01.13.2010 05:30 PM

SuperCreep 01.13.2010 06:50 PM

whoa, just saw him a month and a half ago. weird!

i was never a huge fan of his, but this is tragic nonetheless.

RIP.

EVOLghost 01.13.2010 06:51 PM

I just saw....sad shit man.

stu666 01.13.2010 06:54 PM

demonrail666 01.13.2010 07:04 PM

I liked what I heard by him. RIP

wellcharge 01.13.2010 08:15 PM

i wasn't expecting that, way too young, he was def. getting big too, they had his music available on an airplane i was on(!)

couldn't stand his work tbh

Pax Americana 01.13.2010 08:27 PM

Holy shit, really??? Wow. Too young...

automatic bzooty 01.13.2010 08:50 PM

man, wtf. totally unexpected. RIP!

Decayed Rhapsody 01.13.2010 11:05 PM

Damn. RIP. He's revered as a god in the micro-garage obsessed scene of the last 10 years. I've only heard his stuff from the Reatards (and that "Ain't Gonna Save Me" song).

hevusa 01.14.2010 01:27 AM

drugs are bad... mmmkay.

loubarret 01.14.2010 02:44 AM

Retards where brilliant in all their simple ass kicking glory and blood visions was a great album.

it's the time of the season I guess...

Genteel Death 01.14.2010 03:05 AM

I was just reading the thread dedicated to this on terminal boredom. His arguments with that crowd were always highly entertaing, and he certainly could be a cunt to people, still 29 is really too young an age to go.

radarmaker 01.14.2010 03:46 AM

Well fuck.

atsonicpark 01.14.2010 07:08 AM

Insane!

ni'k 01.14.2010 08:32 AM

Why get so philosophical about it? It's rock and roll. People that relate to it often relate to drugs as well and sometimes this means death. I don't think rock music has much hope anymore at being challenging or innovative. It's old, but old doesn't mean it can't still be an outlet to those that identify with it. More than anything, it's supposed to be fun.

There are other places to look when it comes to music aimed at challenging an audience or attempting to be innovative. Unfortunately, the second part of that last sentence often means boring.

I wasn't a big fan of Jay's music, but I can appreciate it for what it was. If he happened to die of a drug overdose, intentional or not, this likely means there was a complex inner demeanor that I'm certain his fans will begin to dissect and question in the same way many did Cobain or Ian Curtis. The music will likely be looked at from different angles Jay may or may not have intended.

I think the flu got him. He had been complaining about being sick.

Hope I'm not coming off as bitchy. If so, im sorry. The internet has the effect sometimes.

Bertrand 01.14.2010 09:47 AM

What a waste.

He had a peculiar behavior (sacked his pals/band, pissed on stage during the following tour).

Refering to punching a guy who had climbed onto the stage to hug him, party with him or whatever, he said that he disliked that kind of attitude. He said he wanted the audience to understand that he no longer was a brainless punk rocker.

I liked his songs a lot, their weird lyrics and his vocal delivery.

I thought, young as he was, and talented too (to my ears), that he'd get better an better. I'm older and alive, and I like young people to surprise me. This feels like being cheated, I'll have to go on with older rockers.

radarmaker 01.14.2010 10:11 AM

"Flu". Right.

TheFoxBen 01.14.2010 11:05 AM

R.I.P.

Blood Visions is so cool.

PAULYBEE2656 01.14.2010 11:10 AM

yep seemingly it was no more sinister than the flu. it can kill especially if its a strong virilant flu virus. sad. many flu deaths this year. very sad. wasnt he an asthmatic, that would majke sense as us inhaler eaters are very open to fl especially swine flu...

rest easy jay.

hevusa 01.14.2010 12:03 PM

yeah... and Mary was a virgin.

Bertrand 01.14.2010 12:17 PM

She dead too?

radarmaker 01.14.2010 12:42 PM

"He tried to attack us with a chainsaw after throwin around wads of money and burnin 20s and askin us if we thought he was a sellout but he was so fd on coke he couldnt even turn it on then he hit me in the face with a disco ball full of sand and cracked my nose open and kicked us out of his house after he invited us there to stay there and i was all bloody and my friends slashed his tires it sucked He was smokin coke out of a skull bong and freebasin and had 50 grand in his closet"

Jeremy 01.14.2010 02:08 PM

Godspeed Jay. He still had so much potential....

~Jeremy~

batreleaser 01.14.2010 04:55 PM

fuck, that really sucks, i for the most part was really into his shit. dude did party like a motherfucker though.

Pax Americana 01.14.2010 07:54 PM

Evidently this is being investigated as a possible homicide.

hevusa 01.14.2010 09:49 PM

worth more dead than alive????

atsonicpark 06.29.2010 02:01 PM

INSANE! I used to listen to lots of synthpunk (for lack of a better word) type stuff.. phantom limbs, servotron, causey way, thunderbirds are now, experimental dental school, brainiac, six finger satellite, mocket, screamers, polysics, spoozys, metronome, enon, the vss, etc......

and LOST SOUNDS!

I totally had forgotten about this band until earlier and looked up info on them and read that Jay played guitar and did synth and vocals for this band. What the hell? Never knew that. Great band!
