I love rza's production, and his raps always delight my soul when he pops up on various wu-related albums. But I've never heard any of his solo albums.. are they worth getting? Not sure if I'd be into the whole "Bobby digital" thing. Any thoughts?

They are all fine and dandy but not exactly the level of the other Wu solo stuff in my opinion.

I suppose at one point, I'll probably get them all anyway..

Was just about to recommend this. I know it's not really up there with the generally accepted Wu classics in a lot of ways, I mean it's no Liquid Swords, but I've often tried to tell people that it's one of the most underrated Wu records in a lot of ways. I love the way that it will just have these long sections of really sick sleazy beats with these weird retro keyboard lines bouncing along and RZA + cohorts just saying Bobby! Bobby! or B! O! B! B! Y! or some variation of that theme. A really cool, unique, little record.

Oh, and Domestic Violence is simply one of the finest slices of rage filled, borderline incoherent, rap magic that I can think of. When he just comes flying off the handle and into the track at full tilt after a minute or so of bitching it gives me one of my favourite endorphin rushes in the Wu cannon....

there's 2 Ghostdini albums -- Ghostdini The Great is sort of an OVERGROUND mixtape. It's alright but the quality is lousy. Ghostini The Wizard Of Poetry is probably what yr thinking of. The R&B one?

Anyway, I have pretty much everything Wu-related. I never got into the Bobby Digital albums myself. Most of RZA's solo albums are pretty weak. However, if you don't own The Gravediggaz SIX FEET DEEP then yr fucking out of yr mind man. You probably have it. But if you don,t get off this forum and go get it. TRUST ME>

Listen to the track. The 'gold' to which I refer to comes not from the lyrics themselves really, so much as the sheer rage with which RZA flows it out. Rarely has the descriptor 'spits' fitted rapping better.

six feet deep is my favourite wu album which isnt a wu album. comes close after 36 chambers!

oh man NO SAID DATE is fucking brilliant!! I love that album. Too bad he couldn't deliver the same caliber with MADE IN BROOKLYN. But oh well. NO SAID DATE is fantastic. It's like the closest thing in sound to ENTER THE WU or LIQUID SWORDS since... well ENTER THE WU or LIQUID SWORDS.

it should be noted, that I didn't have 100% decision on the 10 albums. I was really pushing for first WU-CHRONICLES compilation, though I'm not sure what I would have bumped. And as far as FISHSCALES goes, it tends to be everybody's favorite Ghostface album, though I personally prefer PRETTY TONEY and IRONMAN msyelf.

Adam, you should definitely get his score for Ghostdog if you don't already have it. And the soundtrack is excellent as well.

Wanted to mention.. that gravediggaz album is the first full rap album I ever heard, ever. It's awesome!

Yeah, I got that, then I got into the anticon shit, then I got some necro, haha. And I just kinda went from there.

I got DIGITAL BULLET, listened once, it's pretty good. But yeah, BOBBY DIGITAL IN STEREO is really really awesome, listened to it 3 times today. So far, and I've not heard all the shit by far, but my top 5 wu-related things'd be...

Am I the only one who thinks ODB's "Return to 36 Chambers" gets old really fast? I like it a lot but there's only so much I can take in one sitting. That's why I think wu's albums are so good, because no rapper ever gets tiring because there's always going to be another one popping up to spit a sick verse.

this is the most westcoast style of all the Wu aside from the full fledge Black Knights, which explains my recommendation. You can straight groove and get yo walk on to these beats.. my style completely.

Gravediggaz were another outfit RZA was in which were really cool. 6 Feet Deep is a really good album! It even has some pre 36 Chambers samples.

if you dig the production of their albums I highly recommend the works of odd nosdam, I think he is one of the most experimental beatsmiths Ive ever heard with an almost ever beautiful undertone. He is one of the few who got selected by Boards of Canada to do a remix for them, and he totally destroyed "dayvan Cowboy" but threw in 2 minutes of pure awesome beat-blisss. his best works maybe: Burner, T.I.M.E. ost, Level Live Wires and a shitload more, p.m. me if you run out of sources!!!

themselves "them" is awesome too, the "no music" is compared to the first mediocre but still a good one.
