Danny Himself 07.09.2006 05:07 PM

I have a HiWatt but I really want an Orange Amp.

The Lung 07.09.2006 05:09 PM

I have a Fender Cyber Twin and want a Marshall stack.

holy-reverb!! 07.09.2006 05:10 PM

what kind of a stack? A stack isnt a model, its a configuration.

nomadicfollower 07.09.2006 05:12 PM

I want a Marshall or Fender.
Though the Mesa Boogie seems like a cool amp.

holy-reverb!! 07.09.2006 05:15 PM

Mascis cares more about tone then size, you will learn that someday.

The Lung 07.09.2006 05:19 PM

Yeh dude whatever, I dont want to sound like Mascis anyways, I used a phrase, kill me

holy-reverb!! 07.09.2006 05:20 PM

Have:
Squier Sidekick

Want:
Any Vox will do. Preferrebly a 60 watt or so.

Dan 07.09.2006 06:56 PM

Peavey Classic 50. To me it's the best amp in the world.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 07.09.2006 07:18 PM

Fender Bassman.

Fender amps to me sound like what amps are supposed to sound like. I love every fender amp I've ever played.

drrrtyboots 07.09.2006 07:30 PM

Have: fender princeton 65
which i don't really like, i kinda took it from my sister when she stopped playing.
i'd really like something tubed...

holy-reverb!! 07.09.2006 09:12 PM

I didnt say what I have. I have a fender bandmaster from 1964 in blonde. Matching head and cab (2x12). And I have a 1976 fender princeton reverb (1x10).

Cantankerous 07.09.2006 09:32 PM

I have a '65 Fender Princeton. It's my baby.
I have a half-stack as well, but I'm not bothering to get it back from my dad. I would really like a full stack but I'm not shelling out the dollaz for that shit.

Norma J 07.09.2006 09:41 PM

Marshall Mode Four. Excellent it is.

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 09:46 PM

Mine:

contort:myself 07.09.2006 10:01 PM

i run my guitar through 2 amps split with a multi-channel shitty reverb processor thing.
the top amp is a roland jazz chorus 77 which i turn the treble up all the way
the bottom is a sears silvertone 1464. it has a bassy garage rock sound. cool stuff. and the built in tremolo sounds like a helicopter taking off.
it's a good set-up for noisy feedbacky guitar.
i don't know what i'll eventually replace it with. the whole set-up has cost me so far under 300 bucks including repairs and is also is plenty loud enough for what i'm doing now.

I hate those amps. Too metal, horrible clean. When it comes to marhsall it has to be vintage designs. 18 watt combos or Plexis, anything but marshalls answer to high high gain and horrid clean.

RIPfrey05 07.09.2006 10:12 PM

I play guitar through either a big old sony solid state stereo connected to a massive old sony speaker for my obnoxious metallic crispy sound or a 70's Fender music man bass amp for earthy tube sound.
I want to play bass though a huge loud car system so i can shake the world. hoever now i just use one of the previously mentioned amps. ;<

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:15 PM

Huge bass amps work better than huge car stereos in any case.

200. Uses 4 KT-90s for output power. It's from 1969.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 07.09.2006 10:20 PM

i have a fender, want a marshall.

holy-reverb!! 07.09.2006 10:21 PM

my god, 200. KT-90s, wow. I have would never think you have this. I would guess its a 50 or 100 JMP. Must be very loud and clean. I heard that you can use 6550 instead of KT-90s. I know that Ei from yugoslavia makes good KT-90s. What do you have in it, the originals?

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:27 PM

It's a Marshall Major. The originals were KT 88s. You can use 6550s, but the tone suffers. It had 6550s in it when I got it, but I had it totally overhauled and retubed. I think the ones that are in there are Svetlanas, but I don't remember. It is extremely loud and clean, but with all that ridiculous headroom I get seriously great low end tone. It's a surprisingly versatile amp, and sounds great for playing amplified acoustic stuff too, believe it or not. When playing loud rock music, it completely rules.
It was a big change from using combos (my last amp was a Mesa 2x10 that was only 38 watts, though I loved it), but I am not going back. I never used to be a "Marshall guy" until I tried this one. It really is amazing.
I will say that had I been able to afford to keep my old Mesa and still be able to get this one, I would have kept it. That Blue Angel was very nice as well, and was a great "small amp."

CHOUT 07.09.2006 10:28 PM

Just got:
Fender Deville

To replace this:
Line 6 Flextone II. I think I'm going to keep it for now, until I need my next heroin fix.

Oh yeah, and my bass amp:
Gallien Krueger 400RBIII Head
Avatar 15" Cab

It sounds great clean - it has a really nice warm sound. The four channels allows me to get the sound of a JCM800 aswell as a sound beyond that. It's the best of both worlds, so to speak.

CHOUT 07.09.2006 10:42 PM

And while we're talking about amps:
I just sold my Acoustic 360 bass cab on Craigslist for $10. It broke down years ago, sat in my mom's basement then in a shed for at least 5 years.
These are strange because the power amp is in the cab, not to mention the speaker faces backwards. I'm keeping the preamp head complete with weird synth-drone like tuner and fuzz!

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:43 PM

I think some of those Acoustic amps are kinda cool.

CHOUT 07.09.2006 10:44 PM

It was a good amp when it worked.

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:45 PM

The tolex on that puppy looks sweet.

CHOUT 07.09.2006 10:46 PM

here's the back

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:48 PM

The horror!
I do like the tilt-and-roll design, though.

RIPfrey05 07.09.2006 10:49 PM

buttsechs

CHOUT 07.09.2006 10:50 PM

If i had a big enough car that I could fit it in, I woulda probably kept it and got it repaired eventually. I'm very happy with my much more portable bass rig though.

Cantankerous 07.09.2006 10:52 PM

The tilt and roll feature is definitely a plus. I put mine on a skateboard.

Savage Clone 07.09.2006 10:53 PM

Pansy.

Cantankerous 07.09.2006 10:56 PM

Thanks for taking the time to notice, I really appreciate it.
