but KIS, there were no weapons being smuggled, and israel had no right to board a ship 75 miles from its shore, and if they had not done that then they would have not been hit, and then they would have not had to kill 20 people.

turkey by the way has a seriously big & potent army in the region-- they are an occupying power as well (in northern cyprus) and had a cozy relationship with israel until recently, doing joint military exercises--that longstanding cooperation was cancelled as a result of the gaza invasion of 2008-9, and now israel goes and kills a bunch of turks? great...!

on top of that, abbas was having "indirect talks" with israel-- continuing with that will now make him look stupid, which props up hamas.

israel is digging itself into a diplomatic shithole like it has never been into before. this isn't the yom kippur war. a humanitarian flotilla is not a horde of syrian tanks and egyptians with soviet SAM batteries and grenade launchers. killing turkish citizens in the middle of the mediterranean was a fucking stupid move, no ifs ands or buts.
