Noise? Meh.
Pop noise, I'd have shelled out for. |
whoa

If it's any consolation, someone did compare one of the tracks to fusion-era Miles Davis. |
I don't have a log-in for the myspazz, so here's a preview track. The existing myspazz stuff is probably not representative of the tape (but also not a million miles off).
|
EDIT actually i didnt realise i posted that. there was a lot more to it THAT I CHOSE NOT TO SHARE WITH YOU. mwahahaha i must hide things lest i give too much away and harm my braindddddddddddddddddddde
|
Strictly speaking, pop has often included elements of 'noise'. But that's hardly the point.
We turn up. We play some instruments. Sometimes well, sometimes not. It's not really noise, but it's a bit too loud/ badly recorded to be properly improv. It is fun to play, whether it's fun to listen to is really up to our 'audience' (such as they are). Anyway, keep on buying and supporting your local tape vendor. |
the live thing thats up sounds promising. ill pay you for a tape in hope.
|
I'm no noise junkie or anything, but I enjoyed what I've just heard, pretty cool man and this is awesome:

good stuff!
|
Good for real.
int shipping? And do buyers get the free digital download for the whole thing:D? I hate smilies. Hi charlie. |
I'm not really in charge of the shipping/ selling side of things. So I'll have to find out. Except for Charlie, because you'll get one free for being awesome. Not that anyone else in this thread isn't awesome. I'm just not likely to see you in the pub on Wednesday. I'm sure a digital version could also be arranged, as it's sat on my computer.
|
Well, keep me updated please, I'll gladly shell out some quids for this rather than spend money on cigarettes. I don't smoke.
Hi wife! |
Make sure to have a few copies to sell at the Supernormal merch stall. And well done, I like what I've heard. You are on a roll of late. Who's the artwork on the cover/tape by?
|
If there's any left by Supernormal I'll bring them along. They're shifting surprisingly well at the moment. I think the artwork is by Ian Watson, the label guy/ noise-maker. I've had minimal involvement with getting the tape out, which is lucky. I should have some solo stuff ready to roll by Supernormal, all being well...
|
Those of you who I was posting them to should have received them by now. I have a few available for trades if anyone wants to PM me.
I'm sure those who've received them will tell you how astonishingly brilliant they are. |
That artwork's dope. Reminds me of david foldvari's stuff.
|
Side 2 is a glorious mess.
|
at least you ve got a new myspace friend
|
Yes, thanks for that. I don't actually log-in to our myspazz ever, but it's appreciated.
This chap did the artwork, for those interested. He's also on myspazz, links in our friends list thing, probably. And he makes good music too. |
what are the ways to purchase???
it looks damn lovely, indeed.! |
You can either paypal the e-mail address on the myspazz or PM me if you want to trade.
|
okay thanks, will do!
(at least another reason to get paypal going again, I am looking to you nic_mofo_fit) |
1 final question, shipping to germany included, too?
|
Last message I got from Ian said "£3.50 should cover European postage". So the answer is yes. Let me know if you get any problems.
|
how long before this is on soulseek?
|
It might well be on there already. I'll up the files once it's sold out, which shouldn't take too long, I imagine.
|
i'd buy one if i could
|
This thing is really great.
And I'm way far from being one of those noisy stuff junkies who like even processed farts just because "It's noise, dude! Listen: BRAEAWWWHAHSZZZZZHAAHHAHAssststststs, it's noise, it must be cool, aaaaight? We're so savantgarden, is that the word? I think so..". No no, this recording has a lovely mood and sound, which somehow manages to be both "space-"y and "cave-like" sounding at the same time. Damn my dictionary suck. There's a good feeling throughout the whole thing, energy and creativity. Even a bit of tension, here and there, but I might be wrong. I love it. Buy it. I just realized all of the above may apply to some Beach Boys records too. |
i might go an buy it.

Most kind, thanks. I don't really like the 'noise' tag, but it's difficult finding other ones. 'Amplified improv' just sounds crap... but yeah, cheers. |
Yep, my lack of vocabulary can't help much, I went on with the "noise-ish" definition from the first post of this thread, but it's indeed pretty different from what most people would define as "noise music".
|
I want one, but I don't have a tape player at the moment, not in my car or at my house. Burn it to cd-r for me? (buy a 100 minute cd-r to burn it on -- yes they exist)
I really want to hear it, though. Like, I'm craving it in my bones. ...and people just keep sending me tapes, in trades or just for me to hear, and on top of having like 500 to get through, I don't even have a way to listen to them without borrowing a walkman (that takes 4 AA batteries) from my mom! Gotta take her WARRANT "CHERRY PIE" tape out first too! |
Sucks to be you, eh?

Well I just gave my mom a shit ton of money to help her with getting surgery.... and they cut my hours at work. Yes, at Wal-Mart. So, I ain't buying no ghetto blaster!
...Glice is nice wink wink. |
Ok, no sfitinzie for you then, just wink-winks, I get it...
|
Any copies left of this?
|
Last few left, get in quick.
You know, I often wonder when people say that if what they mean is 'My Mum has been nagging me about that pile of tapes in the garage for weeks now, please help me, I've lost a lot of money'. But in this case, there are a few left, but I can't guarantee that they'll be there forever. |
