I thought about it, and I get the analogy being about both bands being overrated in general and sustained particularly by dorky worshipers who overlook infinite numbers of groups who mine the respective territories much more successfully.

That said, it's not a very good analogy, because Wolf Eyes don't rely on a frontman in tight leather pants making stoner dudes question their heterosexuality as he spews the poetic truths of junior high school journal keepers. In fact, Wolf Eyes, not being a vocal oriented group at all would be better compared to, say, Weather Report or Return to Forever.

i've never really got into the doors, i don't dislike them i just have never got into them, however one thing that makes me feel like i ought to really give them a decent whirl is that keiji haino often references them as one of his all time favourite bands, and as far as i'm concerned keiji haino has never put a foot wrong.
