I just listened to "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus for 27 minutes straight

And it was epic!

"Party ine the USA" slowed down to one eighth of its original speed by some guy who has decided to copy that guy who slowed down Justin Bieber's "U Smile" by 800% by making super slow-mo versions of other annoying songs.

Enjoy.

noisereductions 08.18.2010 02:00 PM

annoying? "Party In The USA" is brilliant pop. I love that song.

Glice 08.18.2010 02:03 PM

It's not her best, but it grew on me finally.

I didn't mind these ultra-slowed down versions, but it's not the world's most interesting thing. Certainly not as interesting as See you Again (swoon).

demonrail666 08.18.2010 02:03 PM

Wow! I have to say, for a sort of silly idea, that does sound pretty amazing. It sounds like This Mortal Coil's version of Song to the Siren.

Murmer99 08.18.2010 10:28 PM

it's not bad..

automatic bzooty 08.18.2010 11:22 PM

i have encountered 5+ of these. including one of the egyptian shumba. must be a trend now.

viewtiful alan redux 08.19.2010 01:08 AM

Couldn't finish it sober

atsonicpark 08.19.2010 01:23 AM

Hm. I've been slowing down/speeding up pop songs for 15 years now. It's the entire basis of Scissor Shock and Robe. ;)

Anyway, that Miley song rules!

keep poppin pimples 08.19.2010 04:48 AM

this is pretty good, it could do to be about ten minutes shorter though

someone should put a house or dnb beat under it

and um... crap I just blanked. They made an album of slow-down love songs... it had "Lady In Red" on it... um...? Shit.

Derek 08.19.2010 10:06 AM

Damn now you people have discovered how I get that UUUUUU sound!

EVOLghost 08.19.2010 07:32 PM

dood...this shit is awesome! (slowed down)

atsonicpark 08.19.2010 07:46 PM

most things are...

noisereductions 08.19.2010 08:02 PM

um... you guys know about Chopped & Screwed music right? And about how I've been hyping that shit all summer with only like 3 people on here even paying attention to me. Right?

atsonicpark 08.19.2010 08:30 PM

Though chopped and screwed has been around for like 15 years...

noisereductions 08.19.2010 08:41 PM

yah I know. I wasn't saying I made it up. Haha. I'm just sort of curious why when I talk about Lil Wayne Chopped & Screwed I get crickets (aside from a couple fans) and when Justin Bieber is slowed down its treated like "the next big thing" in music. Pfft.

if you did a super slow version of a codeine song, would it just stop altogether?

dionysusundone 08.20.2010 12:37 AM

Weird that this is catching on...is this a reaction to the Witch House trend of doing this?

terminal pharmacy 08.20.2010 01:45 AM

give me goodspeed YBE anyday over some pop song slowed down, the first person who ever did it had artistic merit in doing it everyone else after just parasitic cretins. sounds interesting and all but c'mon

edit: i just listened to the original cyrus track, wondering why the 2nd verse vocals come back in louder than the 1st chorus, bad use of compression...

she should watch out, once the Wheel gets her there is no turning back, I haven't talked to a single person that didn't have a life-altering experience with Salvia, daturas are extremely potent plants, there is a reason why they are not as popular as other psychedelics even though they are readily available, as they are not exactly recreational by any sense of the word.

the sad stock footage of Billy Ray has been priceless!

SpaceCadetHayden 12.11.2010 03:35 PM

Salvia's a sage, not a datura. But, yeah, I still replay some Salvia experiences every day in my head. That video is obnoxious. Fucking kids thinking smoking Salvia is for funsies or something.

my mistake. Salvia is actually worse than a datura, though equally strong and not for popular consumption. Datura are more long term in their duration (weeks?), however Salvia seems to have a wider array or impacting experiences, despite their ridiculously short duration (seconds, minutes?)

SpaceCadetHayden 12.11.2010 04:22 PM

Yeah. Datura can last from days to weeks, and synthetic scopolamine analogues used in government tests had effects surpassing a week's time. It's far more subtle, if used correctly, but is more closely related to dramamine and benadryl than any psychedelics.

Salvia is fucked. I mean, really fucked. The Diviner's Sage, as it's known, has some value and was originally consumed by chewing/sublingual administration, giving the plant a longer lasting but far less strong effect. Smoking it out of a bong w/ a torch is a modern way of administration. Salvia's crack, if you will. The worst part about it is it's just used as a toy or a 'high'. The effects are widely considered unpleasant but it is a way to delve deep into your mind and the world around you. I've had many overwhelming experiences with it, none of which were anywhere close to being fun.

It's not for the novice psychonaut, that's for sure.

EVOLghost 12.11.2010 04:29 PM

yah. salvia is shit for the most part. I don't like it. my hardest trip was weird....

EVOLghost 12.11.2010 04:29 PM

shit jsut makes you feel retarded.

Salvia is not worse than datura. The experiences are two completely different states of mind, and it's very dependent on the salvia extract and ingestion method for both (datura can be administered in many different ways). My salvia experiences have been 10fold more enjoyable and entheogenic than my datura experience, though I used 5x salvia.

The main criticisms to salvia arise because of young people assuming salvia will be like a marijuana high, and going out and getting 40x or some extremely high extract, and getting absolutely terrified.

Though salvia is certainly a 'weird' high compared to the way other psychoactives operate. I wish more awareness would spread about it not being so 'recreational' as people think when taking higher extracts / doses.

this song had me in the summer
