I've heard the music before and really like it, the video goes really well with the track, good bit of team work! very nice to wake up to.

Glice 10.01.2010 06:09 AM

I'd like Knox's vocals higher in the mix. Although that'd be massively incongruous. I like her vocals. But yeah, it's a pretty sterling effort. Good work all concerned.

nicfit 10.01.2010 06:26 AM

I'm really pretty new to videos and related stuff, so please, Jef, Toko, etc. don't be too harsh haha. My first vid ever had no cuts at all (around 4 mins single shot with no camera movements). Working on a 9 mins track is way harder. And yes, I still suck at editing, so I went for the mood, basically (that's a good excuse, isn't it?).

p.s. slavoman, I think it would look much better if we added some sort of "flash lights" as transitions between the 3 "sections"...nuh?

_slavo_ 10.01.2010 07:45 AM

we can do that, yes.

finding nobody 10.01.2010 08:06 AM

Dope. with a capitol D

hevusa 10.01.2010 08:23 AM

nice work!
do you guys live around each other or was it an internet thing?

_slavo_ 10.01.2010 08:32 AM

nicfit lives in Italy
I live in Slovakia
knox lives God knows where

Rob Instigator 10.01.2010 09:09 AM

Knox lives in our hearts....

Good work man. Now I desperately feel I need to gte the bong out and rip up a bowl and watch this again so I can absorb the shit man.
but 9:00 AM at the office is no place for that!

hevusa 10.01.2010 09:14 AM

I like the idea of people living far away from each other collaborating. If there are any musicians on the board who want to collaborate I would be all for it.

Hit me up yo! I work in Nuendo or Cubase.

TheFoxBen 10.01.2010 10:33 AM

Wow, that's a really mesmerizing piece of music, Knox's vocals are so haunting, I love that !

As for the video, it's amazing, I especially love the smoke part and the ending with the fly and the ants. Nicfit, did you film that part ?

nicfit 10.01.2010 11:52 AM

It's all original footage, and that's not even smoke actually :).
Glad you guys like it, as slavo well knows I had lots of doubts on almost everything haha...

TheFoxBen 10.01.2010 12:36 PM

Hah, that's not smoke ? :D What is it then ? Anyway, it's a really really good video.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2010 12:37 PM

-FUPPETED-

EVOLghost 10.01.2010 12:43 PM

fucking fantastic!

chicka 10.01.2010 01:10 PM

It looks like the memory bath in Harry Potter. Dam are those ants strong or what. As I said on you tube Hauntingly Beautiful......

Dr. Eugene Felikson 10.01.2010 01:10 PM

Cool track. I could definitely smoke a few bowls to this. :)

@nic

I noticed 2 cuts, and 3 different shots throughout the video. In my opinion, the shots got gradually more interesting as they went along, with the ending of the ants and the bee, being my favorite part. The second shot is really interesting as well, 'cause I have no fucking clue what I'm looking at! I like that.

The first shot though...

I don't know if you were going for a handheld look, but I think this may have worked better if you had used a tripod. I mean, it's the opening shot... don't you wanna start the video off with a bang? Really draw the audience in, ya' know? I mean it wasn't like it was horrible or anything, ha, I'm just trying my best to give a little constructive criticism.

But yeah, solid work guys!

hevusa 10.01.2010 01:17 PM

good critique

Yep Dr. , criticism is more than accepted!
There's no deep "concept" behind the 3 shots, it's more a sort of moody thing, the first being the start of the "trip" ha ha...it's kinda hard to bring a tripod on a plane, but I get what you mean about the first part, I think the very same thing, a more "steady" shot would work much better, also because both the other parts start from a static pov...
Btw, I have no proper video-equipment (not even a camcorder), so it's all a sort of experiment for me (I warned slavo back in the days), and working with ultralimited resources is kinda challenging in a good way.
The second shot is the only one I actually "put together" from an idea, I prepared the stuff needed, a bit of light and shot the thing while I interacted with the materials. The idea was to create some sort of "ethereal landscape"...seems like it worked.. what you see is about 3-4 cm tall tops btw haha. chicka got pretty close

not that close, but...

here's a frame from the unedited vid, I guess it's more clear this way :).

see above

Murmer99 10.01.2010 01:34 PM

I loved it.

hevusa 10.01.2010 01:39 PM

still can't really see it. something floating through water? upside down?

oh shit... are they anti acid pills?

nicfit 10.01.2010 01:41 PM

No more secrets, eh: drops of purple watercolor in water. In a supersmall plastic glass, macro shot.
Flipped vertically+BW for the vid, slightly slowed down.

hevusa 10.01.2010 01:43 PM

haha. nice work

Green_mind 10.03.2010 10:07 AM

awesome stuff you three, the footage works great with the music, clever use of macro shots, put into action very effectively.

shabbray2.0 10.05.2010 09:03 AM

cant give enough reputation to the three of you!

nicfit 10.05.2010 09:33 AM

thanks for the appreciation guys.
Nefgirl, the "locations" are:

1- on a plane to Oslo
2- in my room
3- in my frontyard

shot with a digital harinezumi 2
just to add some infos haha..
Slavoman, I, ehm, "bought" a couple different softwares, I'll check which one seems more user friendly to me and I'll try and put together an improved version soon-ish. pm me the credits you want to put in (at the start/end, wathever).

shabbray2.0 10.05.2010 10:12 AM

^^oh crap the harezumis are damn expansive. but it seems they are worth the effort.

I am waiting to the day I got the time and inspiration to use my modded version of this:
http://www.jonmckee.com/storage/7830...269545447 491

I think that would go astetically in a similar direction!

_slavo_ 10.05.2010 10:14 AM

simple. in the beginning:

Music: Casi Cada Minuto - "Waves"
Video: nicfit (or whatever you want there)
Vocals: knox

space 10.05.2010 10:51 AM

it made me want to cry.

more please.

Kegmama 10.05.2010 11:45 AM

love it guys! haunting & soothing at the same time. very well done. :)
