I hate Soulseek
 

When the person yr trying to download from is slow. And when it takes 30 minutes to download one song.

Soulseek is a million times better than other downloading programs

I hate file sharing programs in general. The concept is fabulous and they'd be great if you didn't get 8000 fucking viruses, intrusion attempts etc.

Haha. Die.

Soulseek rules.

I only use it when there a new album I want and I want to get it. Then I uninstall it completely and virus scan my stuff.

Yeah, but its worth it sometime.

In speed Limewire is the best, but in soulseek you can find a lot of bootlegs, if you are looking for get your computer infected get Kazaa

wow, that's a bit paranoid. i've been using soulseek regularly for years and never caught a virus from it.

agreed. soulseek has proven itself to me to be completely spyware and virus free.

Limewire is almost as bad as Kazaa about that.

kazza is the devil in peer-to-peer format.

I am a bit paranoid about that kind of stuff. Better safe than sorry I guess. I hardly ever use Soulseek though, so it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Soulseek I believe is pretty safe, but it's the only one I've ever found that I can say that about. Though mIRC is pretty good, as far as I've been able to tell.

But I've abandoned all forms of file-sharing. I just buy now. If I really need to hear an album, I listen to iTunes samples, and maybe buy a song off it. But I feel rather cheap using p2p. It's not the real thing.

when i used pc i never had a problem and now with mac, no problem.
and why would you need to uninstall it when youre not using it? cant you just quit slsk and start it when you need it?

Its not really user friendly. Yes, its simple in design and all that garbage, but some of the functions take some trial and error.

true, you do have to know your way around it and check the blog every so often if you want to get the most out of it.

although i've never used itunes, i imagine i'd be hard pressed to find what i want on it.

Buying CDs is virus-free.

some CDs are OOP, and some i'd like to hear before i order them from a mail order company that does not put soundsamples on their website, because i simply can not afford to purchase any album that raises my interest. and the stuff i get mailorder is generally too obscure to look for in the shops.

I prefer amule for all my filesharing needs. Soulseek is good for single songs, it's a bitch trying to get full albums off there. I don't use windows, so I don't have to worry about getting viruses off p2p.

i dont understand the ROOMS on the right hand side, I click on them and theres nothing, what the fuck do you use them for? Do you talk to people? I never see any conversations...

yeah, alot of people just sit in the rooms.
but, if you go into the indie room. you gets tons of conversation

I think the rooms are more about finding people who like the same kind of music/porn you like rather than to chat.

doing a room search in the appropriate room is a much more effective way of searching for stuff than a normal search.

all I get my stuff from is yousendit/rapidshare/spread-it/badongo/etc.

I keep my computer safe.

It dawned on me yesterday that i don't like listening to music through an itunes library.I keep on ignoring loads of good music that i've uploaded on my pc because i decided that music files don't appeal to me anymore.Nothing beats putting a record on the good old fashioned way.Techno geeks beware:
