I hate Soulseek

When the person yr trying to download from is slow. And when it takes 30 minutes to download one song.

TheDom 07.16.2006 10:05 AM

Soulseek is a million times better than other downloading programs

Cantankerous 07.16.2006 10:05 AM

I hate file sharing programs in general. The concept is fabulous and they'd be great if you didn't get 8000 fucking viruses, intrusion attempts etc.

atsonicpark 07.16.2006 10:06 AM

Haha. Die.

Soulseek rules.

Sonic Youth 37 07.16.2006 10:07 AM

I only use it when there a new album I want and I want to get it. Then I uninstall it completely and virus scan my stuff.

Cantankerous 07.16.2006 10:07 AM

What a pain in the ass.

Sonic Youth 37 07.16.2006 10:08 AM

Yeah, but its worth it sometime.

Unmade Bed 07.16.2006 11:17 AM

In speed Limewire is the best, but in soulseek you can find a lot of bootlegs, if you are looking for get your computer infected get Kazaa

wow, that's a bit paranoid. i've been using soulseek regularly for years and never caught a virus from it.

finding nobody 07.16.2006 12:37 PM

soulseek is great. i've gotten alot of things off there

agreed. soulseek has proven itself to me to be completely spyware and virus free.

Cantankerous 07.16.2006 12:57 PM

Limewire is almost as bad as Kazaa about that.

afterthefact 07.16.2006 01:23 PM

kazza is the devil in peer-to-peer format.

I am a bit paranoid about that kind of stuff. Better safe than sorry I guess. I hardly ever use Soulseek though, so it doesn't really make a difference to me.

acousticrock87 07.16.2006 02:31 PM

Soulseek I believe is pretty safe, but it's the only one I've ever found that I can say that about. Though mIRC is pretty good, as far as I've been able to tell.

But I've abandoned all forms of file-sharing. I just buy now. If I really need to hear an album, I listen to iTunes samples, and maybe buy a song off it. But I feel rather cheap using p2p. It's not the real thing.

WORD!

wax 07.16.2006 02:55 PM

never had a problem with slsk.
when i used pc i never had a problem and now with mac, no problem.
and why would you need to uninstall it when youre not using it? cant you just quit slsk and start it when you need it?

IntoTheGroovey 07.16.2006 02:56 PM

Soulseek rarely works for me.

I really don't like that people can get to your shit, so I don't have any filesharing programs anymore.

Пятхъдесят Шест 07.16.2006 03:48 PM

Soulseek is good, but it frustrates the hell out of me from time to time.

Its not really user friendly. Yes, its simple in design and all that garbage, but some of the functions take some trial and error.

Toilet & Bowels 07.16.2006 06:07 PM

true, you do have to know your way around it and check the blog every so often if you want to get the most out of it.

although i've never used itunes, i imagine i'd be hard pressed to find what i want on it.

HaydenAsche 07.16.2006 08:08 PM

Buying CDs is virus-free.

Toilet & Bowels 07.16.2006 08:16 PM

some CDs are OOP, and some i'd like to hear before i order them from a mail order company that does not put soundsamples on their website, because i simply can not afford to purchase any album that raises my interest. and the stuff i get mailorder is generally too obscure to look for in the shops.

I was being sarcastic, deary. I usually only download cds I have a feeling I am going to buy.

Style 07.16.2006 09:19 PM

I prefer amule for all my filesharing needs. Soulseek is good for single songs, it's a bitch trying to get full albums off there. I don't use windows, so I don't have to worry about getting viruses off p2p.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 07.16.2006 10:17 PM

i have over 320 gigs of music thanks to soulseek

so maybe you just suck at it?

Cantankerous 07.16.2006 10:48 PM

you were just too stoned and didn't realize how long it actually took.

That's cute how you call them 'deary'.

yeah, alot of people just sit in the rooms.
but, if you go into the indie room. you gets tons of conversation

krastian 07.17.2006 01:07 AM

I think the rooms are more about finding people who like the same kind of music/porn you like rather than to chat.

Toilet & Bowels 07.17.2006 07:39 AM

doing a room search in the appropriate room is a much more effective way of searching for stuff than a normal search.

_slavo_ 07.17.2006 07:50 AM

all I get my stuff from is yousendit/rapidshare/spread-it/badongo/etc.

I keep my computer safe.

porkmarras 07.17.2006 07:50 AM

It dawned on me yesterday that i don't like listening to music through an itunes library.I keep on ignoring loads of good music that i've uploaded on my pc because i decided that music files don't appeal to me anymore.Nothing beats putting a record on the good old fashioned way.Techno geeks beware:
I am a pretty techy person myself, this aint about technology but about format.

Toilet & Bowels 07.17.2006 07:58 AM

yeah, the intangibility of mp3s puts me off them

m^a(t)h 07.17.2006 10:05 AM

yes, I only get music that I wouldnt be able to liten to otherwise....
