i am one of the many millions of survivors of britain's most notorious pedo, glicey glitter. everyday is a silent struggle but i refuse to let the pain of the past cloud over the light of tomorrow's bright future.

You know, when I had jury duty recently, a question like this came up on the pamphlet.

And I realized that in a way I sort of am. My sister's ex-boyfriend was a big time sexual predator, and he used to be my friend when I was in high school. He would come up to you and feel you up on the inside of your leg, grab your ass, that sort of stuff.

At the time I had this philosophy that at that age we'd do homosexual things to rouse someone's homophobia and make them feel uncomfortable. So I'd just say "get off me" and I'd laugh it off. But years later, I think I should have reacted a bit more to it. I think this sort of stuff happens a lot with teenage boys, and they don't really think it is abuse/harassment, just boys being boys. Stuff like ball-tapping, locker room antics, and tea bagging come to mind.

Also, one time I gave a drunk man a hug because he was crying about his mother's death, and then he grabbed my ass and also my breast.

It was sort of shocking. Didn't really know what to do, so I just sort of ignored it.


I can understand how women have a hard time with harassment.

I have a friend who was forced to see some other boy fuck a pig.

I've had some weird encounters, but nothing that went far enough to qualify as abuse.

I was 14 at the time. Someone much older than myself (who he was I'd rather not disclose) lured me into their bed via a bunch of horror films they had rented. I didn't really see anything wrong with it, until after I past out only to wake up later with this other individual spooning me. I assumed he must have fallen asleep as well, and in his sleep assumed me to be someone else I'd rather not disclose, either. I slowly moved out of bed, and as soon as my toes hit the floor he said "where are you going?". I told him what he was doing and that I was going to sleep in another room. He more or less confirmed my initial suspicions regarding him thinking I was someone else, and then requested that I stay with him because he wasn't used to sleeping by himself. This left me in a predicament, and a very uncomfortable one at that. In an attempt to avoid any further weirdness in the way of convo...I told him I'd stay as long as he stayed on his side of the bed. Well..I fell asleep and the same exact thing happened again, only this time I refused stay...and this was after several offers of money, and cigarettes (which I didn't smoke at the time, But I can see why this person may have assumed that I did). I told some people, and being that I was generally considered to be a black sheep at the time no one believed me. Thankfully, they do believe me now.

I don't really consider that abuse, though I would be infuriated if I were to find out this happened to my son or daughter. Thankfully, at that stage of my life I was old/wise enough to realize something was very weird and I needed to leave wherever it was I was currently at.

One situation that I feel could be considered abuse....my dad would leave his pornography in places to where it was very easy to access. Nothing to shocking for a now 27 year old, but being a first grader asking my dad about what was going on in certain videos I had discovered was a bit strange. He tried the whole "well, when two people love each other/where babies come from" bullshit, but that didn't, and he couldn't give me an explanation when I asked "well, why was his wiener in her mouth?". A bit fucked up, yes. After that I guess it didn't matter much to him anymore and he got serious kicks off of forcing me and my brother to watch Faces of Death. I guess this qualifies as abuse (and other forms of abuse did occur), but I'm not sure if any of it truly boils down to sexual. I don't remember ever doing, or being asked to do anything of a sexual nature. Not sure where that first situation would have went though had I decided to stay in that room.

Life's weird. Adults seldom realize the decisions they make can sometimes GREATLY affect the lives of their children even years after the fact.

None of the above situations have any affect on me at all these days...at least none that are obvious. I'm sure seeing porn in those early elementary school years probably didn't do much in the way of giving me a healthy outlook toward sex....but then again, most people don't so who cares?

about 2 years ago i saved a 14 year old girl from being raped. it was just by sheer luck i happened to be out for a walk and ran into a crowd of people i knew. the guy who was going to do it is a guy well known to me. the girl was lying on the grass face down in her own puke from the booze he had obviously been plying into her. of course everyone else there was just ignoring her and couldnt care less. whenever i tried to get everyone on the subject and get some help for her the guy offered to take her back to his house "so her parents dont shout at her for being so drunk".

fucking disgusting it was. at least i was there to but a stop to it. but in retrospect it disturbed me how NOONE ELSE challenged this guy. even her friends who were there, they would have let him get away with it.

i got her brought home in a taxi, got one of her friends to carry her into it and made sure he carried her into her house aswell.

it only became apparent to me in retrospect what had happened. the thing about this girl, she was 14 but she looked about 10. she is VERY small and skinny for her age. she's just feeble and there is no way she could have put up any kind of a resistance.

after i had paid for her taxi home i was walking around with the guy and some others and he started into this "paedophillia is overrated!" crap. making it all into a joke. i remember thinking, yeah sure, there's a lot of hype and hysteria, there's a lot of hypocrisy and bullshit involved. DOESN'T MEAN YOU AS A 24 YEAR OLD GET TO FUCK UNCONCIOUS TEENAGE GIRLS.

he spent the rest of the night in an absolute huff. completely pissy and bitchy, to the point were the rest of us were laughing at him.

what's so pathetic about it is that this guy told me some time later that he was regularly abused by his dad. now of course i get that that's going to mess up a persons head. but they should be the FIRST people to realise how wrong it is and not try to do the same thing to other people.

yet in our hedonistic culture i get the impression that a LOT of people are just secretly cheering it on like "ah at least he's acting out his own desires! that's all that matters!"

on the flipside of this you get dad who sits there reading his morning paper saying "fucking disgusting, all paedos should be hung" then turns to page 3 to look at the just turned 18 models.

i knew another guy who would say things like "fuckin paedos bring back the death penalty! we should be fuckin testing on them instead of animals." all this crap. yet i witness this guy getting underage girls so drunk they can't walk then taking advantage of them. ok fair enough at the time he's like 18 so maybe its not as bad as if he was 40 but still wtf.

Has anyone ever told you what an asshole you are? You make it sound like a contest.

I'm not saying I was scarred by it or I have nightmares or anything. Just that I was sexually harassed and I think it happens to a majority of young men without them realizing it, and that I can sympathize with the girl at the office who gets her ass grabbed by her boss.

Had a similar experience with Sway having to do with seeing porn pretty early on. I don't think it had that much of an effect on me. It just confused the shit out of me! But, when I tried to get my Dad to explain didn't say anything..

just to be clear, pedophilia means being sexually attracted to prepubescent children... so that means kids who don't show any signs of being a teenager yet. no developing breasts, no pubic hair. the dad looking at the barely legal models is just attracted to young women, it doesn't make him a pedophile in any way (these women are young but they do look like women, not like children)

when a teen is molested it is called sexual abuse, not pedophilia.

When I was younger I had a friend who put her own father in jail for abusing her and her sister. She barely ever wanted to talk about it, we talked about music mostly. I found it curious that she would go and see him on his birthday, for example. It clearly disturbed her a lot, but I didn't know what to do, and she didn't want to talk about it.

Actually he was my age at the time. I should have punched him the face looking back at the situation. He did the same shit to other people too.
