any occultism experts on here?

so,i had the strangest dream in my entire life,when i woke up the third time(in the dream i woke up 3 times,it was like a dream-in a dream-in a dream-in a dream thing,quite confusing)there was this symbol

drawn on a yellow piece of paper and hanged with tape on the wall right next to my pillow, and my tee, the wall, the sheets ,the pillow, everything around my bed had little holes, like the ones you'd get using a cowboy spur like a pizza cutter...it gave such an awful feeling that i woke up (this time for real).

I am no expert, but it does bear a resemblance to the reversed "Life Rune," Algiz, also sometimes referred to as the "Elk Rune." From the "Proto Germanic" alphabet used in Northern Europe.

Some definitions:
Protection, a shield. The protective urge to shelter oneself or others. Defense, warding off of evil, shield, guardian. Connection with the gods, awakening, higher life. It can be used to channel energies appropriately. Follow your instincts. Keep hold of success or maintain a position won or earned. Algiz Reversed: or Merkstave: Hidden danger, consumption by divine forces, loss of divine link. Taboo, warning, turning away, that which repels.

Also, in its reversed state, it was used by the Waffen SS as a "death rune" on headstones of soldiers.

These runes are ancient, but their roots in northern European culture have caused them to be taken up as part of the symbology of certain subsets of the White Racialist movement. Details here:

i'm leaving for holidays on the 9th,this sounds like a warning...maybe i should change my flight booking??well, now i'm joking, but actually i'm still a bit shocked and i feel not at ease since i woke up this morning.it's a scary sensation.
savage clone, have you got an image of that rune to post here?otherwise i'll search on google.
edit: i found it,but it looks not exactly like "my" symbol...thanks for your hints, anyway.

OK, here you go....

TRIDENT: Called "the devil's pitchfork," it has symbolized major gods in various pagan cultures. In India, it is linked to the Hindu "trident-bearer" Shiva, spouse of the skull-bearing goddess Kali. More recently, this three-sponged spear has been used by Hindu militants in India to intimidate Christians.

Trident
To see or use a trident in your dream, symbolizes the God of the Sea. Because of the relation to the sea, you may want to consider the symbolism of water and the ocean. Alternatively, it is also indicative of your creative energies and sensitivity.

mine's like a trident reversed without the pointy ends...i'm still searching on google for an exact match,no luck till now.thanks for the hint tokolosh.

Savage Clone 08.07.2006 12:46 PM

nicfit - i doubt this means anything significant.

Savage Clone 08.07.2006 12:49 PM

A tattoo of that would look cool, but don't be surprised if people make a certain set of assumptions about you.

porkmarras 08.07.2006 12:52 PM

Nah it would look a bit tacky,c'mon,Victoria Beckham would get a tatoo like that!!!

Tokolosh 08.07.2006 12:53 PM

yep, probably it has not a particular meaning, but it's the first time ever a dream gives me shivers just thinking about it,so i'm pretty curious to know something, eventually this thread will die if no one has something to contribute....and i will die without knowing why...o whyyyy!!???!!

porkmarras 08.07.2006 12:54 PM

She has already,hasn't she?

Cantankerous 08.07.2006 12:56 PM

i was just toying with the idea. my next i think will definitely be the freak power/gonzo symbol. i might get the golden number 13.

!@#$%! 08.07.2006 01:31 PM

i dont think runes apply to italians. maybe that's a fork.

m^a(t)h 08.07.2006 01:52 PM

why do we need an occult expert?

interpreting dreams is easily the most difficult thing you could try, freud explains its difficulties better in Interpretation of Dreams.

in the words of dickens:
"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!"

Daycare Nation 08.07.2006 08:29 PM

I'm an expert on the occult. It means you're gay. Sorry if you haven't realized it yet, but someday you will.

Yeah, I think he used those as his alphabet.

k-krack 08.07.2006 09:23 PM

maybe in a former life you were Poseidon. dreams are funny business. i have this sorta textbook like book called "The Sleep Book". it is tres interesting, full of net quotes and tidbits of info and Freudian quotes. Did you know that bears don't actually hibernate through winter? they come out for food periodically.

Toilet & Bowels 08.08.2006 07:17 AM

that must suck, going from being poseidon to being some dude on the internet

I'm sorry, but that's really funny... :(

Toilet & Bowels 08.08.2006 08:24 AM

well i can't think of a stronger contrast, going from ruling the oceans, creating storms, drowning sailors, destroying towns and cities with huge tidal waves, sinking atlantis, demanding sacrifice and then finding yourself sitting indoors, taping keys on a hot sunny day, trying to get some chick in another country to post a photo of herself while you snigger at some lame jokes and cultivate a pixeltan.

alyasa 08.08.2006 09:21 AM

At least he's got the memories, right? Those'll never leave him... The tapping of keys will be like a melody serenading his memories of being Poseidon, all those millenia ago...

max 08.08.2006 09:27 AM

amico mio, ciò è strano piuttosto anzichenò.

peraltro: http://myspace.com/prong

forse vorra dire che devi comprarti RUDE AWAKENING??? album del 1996 del suddetto gruppo che contiene la title track le cui lyrics ad un certo punto dicono YOUR REAL LIFE LEFT IN YOUR DREAMS?

fammi sapere che accade.

Toilet & Bowels 08.08.2006 09:27 AM

yeah but imagine how depressing it would be going from being a god to a nerd.

alyasa 08.08.2006 09:39 AM

It'd be pretty depressing, but he seems to enjoy it...
