landmarks of your dreams
I'm not big on trying to interpret my own dreams, and it bores
me when too much importance is given to them. Whenever I happen to remember one, I've noticed that I often end up in the same five-star hotel and find myself dealing with some of its employees, particularly on the top floor outside a constantly busy kitchen. What's a landmark of your dreams, if there is one? |
I tend to revisit the same oddly familiar/unfamiliar environment that doesn't exist in my real life.
It is made up of a vast collection of rooms that are in turn self contained or open out onto either a beach or a vast field. The rooms are infinite and are minimally decorated as I wander and occasionally I come across people... both living and dead. Edit: On the whole the atmosphere and pace reminds me of a Tarkovsky movie. |

So I had one last night. Only remember a bit of it and it appeared I was in my high school cafeteria....that or a large room that resembled it.
|
I dream of being in giant malls, tall buildings and elevators quite often. Stairs are a recurring symbol in my dreams, all kinds of stairs. Then there's some weird locations:
An Irish church which has an interior that resembles the set of an 80s hair metal music video; a café that somewhow looks like the black lodge from Twin Peaks but it's not just a café, there's some kind of stage aswell; a random spaceship that is primarily lit by neon-light; a school that looks like it was built by Hundertwasser and Escher etc... |
there's this strip mall near my home and i frequently have dreams where i go to this special underground part full of food stalls with great food for cheap
in my dreams the welfare office is inside a really nice hotel also in my dream world there are a couple of record stores that i love going to pretty pathetic dreams to be honest |
Werewolves, and drowning.
|
Quote:
Are you a drowning werewolf? Are you drowning a werewolf? Are you a werewolf drowning another werewolf? Are you drowning while being chased by a werewolf? Are you drowning while changing into a werewolf? Or maybe it's like Teen Wolf and you signed up for the swimming team and drowned during practice? |
I wish I could say otherwise, but the two are rarely ever within the same dream sequence. Either I'm being attacked by werewolves or I'm trapped underwater in a very claustrophobic tight space.
I have both dreams rather often. The drowning dream is usually the same. The werewolf ones are always different, but they never cease to scare the living piss out of me. |
I just want to say that if anyone was documenting my dreams it should be Nefeli. You know. Because of how she writes.

Since reviving old threads seems to be a thing right now:
I wanna add generally impossible architecture to the mix. Like that one time I dreamt about walking through a door in an underground parking lot and suddenly finding myself standing right in the middle of a large airport that could in no way exist on the same level as the parking lot (windows wouldn't display natural light in subterranean areas, there were also large discrepancies in terms of size). Or parallel staircases narrowly aligned next to each other in a way that would only be possible if the space was twice as big as it appears. Being unable to switch on the light has been a reoccuring symbol as well. |
