selling cds
where can you get the most money for selling cds online
ebay maybe? im not sure
maybe ebay. would depend on what they are, of course.
then again the used record store's probably faster and easier, if you have one in your area, although you won't get more than 2 or 3 bucks per, I would guess. |
what are you looking to sell? (just curious)
I, too, have a number of CDs I want to sell (mostly for the money, which I need, but also because I rarely if ever listen to them). I've never sold CDs before. I was always very adamant about keeping all the ones I ever bought or received. Most of the CDs I'll be giving away were gifts from friends, so I held on to them just to be nice. But now that I have to pack for college, I'm realizing that: A) Those albums suck and I've never liked them, and B) I really need to get rid of a lot of shit.
i wouldn't get much money then b3ecause the cds i wanna sell are ones that i got as gifts or ones i bought in my phase of awful music back in the 5th grade (spice girls, now that's what i call music..., britney spears etc) i jsut want to get rid of them for a bit of cash to buy new cds
leave your house and go sell them at a record store that takes second hand or a pawn shop or something, then you don't have to deal with all the other shit that comes with online selling
If you're selling that kind of stuff, then ebay is probably the wrong place. Once you've paid your fees you won't be left with much. Plus there's the hassle of listing each CD. There are places online that buy in bulk, you just send a list and they'll tell you what they want, then you ship (usually how it works). It might be worth doing a google search. I have used somebody for that but it was a UK site so not much use to you.
Secondhand store might be your best bet, even though you won't get a huge amount for Spice Girls CD's. |
Pawnbrokers are dying out buying CD's nowadays.
If you have a local store that specialises in secondhand cd's etc, then take them to that and sell them. They'll tend to give you alittle more. But I doubt they'll give you much if anything for SpiceGirls and Britney Speares, as they'd have been offered hundreds of them over the years and they weren't good in the first place. |
I also recommend the local record store. The one here offers cash or store credit, and its so instantaneous.
I recommend keeping the Spice Girls albums. You just never know when the mood will strike.
i went to two record stores near my house. one of them will trade for other secondhand cds but won't give out cash. and the other said that it depends on the music, but seeing as how the collection they have is nothing near britney spears and so on, they prolly won't take my shit.
i also found an online place that offered 11 bucks for 10 of my cds. not too much but that the most i've found so far |
With stuff like that (nobody'll touch em for more than a buck, if that), I find more reward in just giving them away to somebody who wants them. See if your local library will take them as a donation. Or Goodwill, Salvation Army?
Or just keep them. You can never tell what might be considered "collectible" in another 30 years. |
yeah but i seriously need some cash...

To be truthful, probably not Spice Girls. |

but... you're finding out nobody will give you any for these... right? Time to try another cash-making tactic, perhaps? Any blood banks around your town? Any (gasp) work (dirty word!) to be had? |
see i would get a job. but aruond here you have to be 16. and i, at the meager age of 15 do not meet that demand.
Get a paper round.
that doesn't exist in the city
Bob a job.

Then do what other kids your age do... soak your parents for every last dime they have in their pockets. |
hmm maybe i'll jsut become a drug dealing child prostitute. that'll make me some money.
I think it would be a helluva lot safer and easier just to hit up your parents.
Maybe do some jobs for them?
That's the way it works in my house. Kid walks the dogs everyday and mows the lawn once a week, and walks away from me and mum with more cash in his pocket than I usually have.
gmku, sing them this:
Now our little boy came up to his mum in the kitchen this evenin' Lord knows when you add it all up While she was fixin' supper And he handed her a piece of paper he'd been writin' on And after wipin' her hands on her apron She read it - and this is what it said For mowin' the lawn - five dollars For makin' my own bed this week - one dollar And for goin' to the store - fifty cents An' playin' with little brother, while you went shoppin' - twenty-five cents Takin' out the trash - one dollar Gettin' a good report card - five dollars And for rakin' the yard - two dollars Total owed - fourteen seventy-five Well, as mum looked at him standin' there expectantly And I could see the mem'ries flashing through her mind And so she picked up the pen, and turnin' the paper over This is what she wrote For the nine months I carried you Growin' inside me - No charge For the nights I've sat up with you Doctored you, and prayed for you - No charge For the time and the tears That you've cost through the years, there's No charge And when you add it all up The full cost of my love is No charge For the nights filled with dread And all the worries ahead - No charge For advice and the knowledge And the cost of your college - No charge For the toys, food and clothes and even for wipin' your nose There's No charge, son And when you add it all up The full cost of my love, is - No charge Well, when he finished readin' He had great big old tears in his eyes And he looked up at her standing there and said Mama, I sure do love you Then he took the pen, And in great big letters He wrote PAID IN FULL The cost of real love is - No charge |
Sniffle.
My kid's response would be: Ah, Mom, I love you. You ARE the greatest mom in the world, and I really appreciate all you've been through for me. So... I'd prefer cash or you could just transfer funds to my account, whichever is easiest, and oh, yeah, Dad, if it's not too much trouble, I need gas in my car. |
i have no lawn.
i have no dog. i have no money. |
do you have parents?
yes.
BUT NOT THIS WEKKEND CAUSE THEY'RE OUT OF TOWNNNNN!!!!! |
Rifle the house and find their savings.
goodness it is so rare that i have the house to myself. my parents are divorced so usually one of them is in town. but not this time... and better yet. they're both not only out of town, but out of the countryyyyy
So who's looking after you? You're a minor.
my sister's in town as well. she's 18
Mmm. I think I might call the authorities, just to be on the safe side.
hmph. you're an old man
"a guy that goes by pookie! that's so gay!"- MY MOM
hahaha
Go find somebody else's lawn to mow.
i live on a street with crackhouses and the like. none of them have lawns, and even if they did, i would be scared to mow them and they would prolly pay me in crack
