I think we've decided the former. |
Pookie, please can you change your avatar. My trousers have just become rather tight around the groin area.

Better? |
Now you're just being silly.
Go on, you can put Lydia back. Just not quite such an erotic one please. |
Quote:
No, the correct response should have been Yus, My Dear. Hip Priest would have got that. |
How's that?
|
She just can't help looking dirty can she?
|
It's probably Cantankerous herself. Hey, it's not out of character.

That's why we love her. (I take it you were referring to Lydia & not Cantankerous?). |
Cantankerous doesn't look dirty, she looks grubby. There's a definite difference.
|
an intriguing first post

Pookie, please can you change your avatar. My trousers have just become rather tight around the groin area. :D

That's Ian White in the background. I saw her in Holland on that same tour. Terry Edwards and Mark Viaplana were also part of it. |

Is this the same Terry Edwards who,i think, used to play in an early 90s band called Spirea X?
|
Terry Edwards biog.
Born in Hornchurch, Essex, England on August 10th, 1960 Learnt trumpet & piano at school. Started playing guitar at thirteen. Was given a saxophone on my 18th birthday Went to the University of East Anglia from 1979-82 to get into a band. Managed to do that and come away with a degree in music as well First releases made with The Higsons (1980-86) Formed Butterfield 8 with 'Young' Mark Bedford (ex-Madness) in 1987 Having been in several bands and played many sessions, 1991 saw the first solo releases on Jacko Boogie's STIM label, actively encouraged by the aforementioned Mr Bedford 1991-present has seen a prolific musical career take in an unfeasible amount of diverse work both as a session player (stopped counting the number of releases once they'd got into three figures), live performer (stopped counting the gigs once they'd got into four figures) and solo artist both with & without sidesmen The Scapegoats Somehow he has omitted to mention that he was also in Gallon Drunk, which is something I'd be very proud of. |
And Serious Drinking.

I'm not sure 'cause I don't know much about him. He was in The Higsons and led Butterfield 8. Did a lot of sessions too. You can check that out here. I bought FIT 014CD at Lydia's show. Had a chat with him and he signed it for me. That's him in the scan. |
Serious Drinking! Check them out.
The Revolution Starts At Closing Time. |
I think he might be the same person.Good call sonicl,Gallon Drunk are a mostly awesome band.and thanks for the link Tokolosh.
|
It is the same person. He's played in so many bands and with so many people. He's done a few volumes of CD's called No Fish Is Too Weird For Her Aquarium (up to Vol. III I think) which contain a good cross-section of his work (including Serious Drinking!).
The first CD I bought of his was Terry Edwards Plays, Salutes & Executes - where he does cover versions of songs by The Fall, Jesus & Mary Chain, Miles Davis, Sex Pistols, The Clash & The Damned (I think mainly taken from Peel Sessions). |
Exactly.I have the Jesus and Mary Chain cover wich i got on some mp3 blog.Nothing special but then that's what you get if you try to cover the Mary Chain.
|
To be honest, the only songs on their that really work are the Miles Davis ones. The others sound a bit 'novelty' for me.
|
I saw him play a solo show as support to Marc Ribot a few years ago. Terrible racket.
|
I think his own songs work well, it was just the cover versions for me. And don't forget Serious Drinking (Bobby Moore Was Innocent, Spirit of '66) - you must remember them sonicl.
|
The East Anglia scene passed me by, I'm afraid.
|

Yeah, he goes mad with the sax. I can't listen to the whole cd in one go. |
GoblinChops IS Cantankerous. Right?
|
