I was playing this European guy on Halo (I am pretty sure he was Scottish) that couldn't pronounce 'rape'. He kept saying 'repped'. It was funny.

Why did ya talk about rape while playing a computer game?

Alex's Trip 08.21.2006 12:07 PM

All the 13 year old kids say stupid shit like "Get Raped" after they've killed you. In that particular game, I was winning but he kept saying "get repped" after he killed me. It was really stupid.

finding nobody 08.21.2006 12:08 PM

Yeah, that happens..hahah

Ah, I see. I'm not much of a gamer myself, so I don't know all your urban slang. :)

alyasa 08.21.2006 01:10 PM

I'm not American

jon boy 08.21.2006 01:40 PM

another question for the americans. why all the water towers?

i saw one that said sandwich on the side that i thought was funny.

Alex's Trip 08.21.2006 01:44 PM

For the water...?

jon boy 08.21.2006 01:45 PM

you dont have unserground pipes like civilised nations?

Savage Clone 08.21.2006 01:52 PM

They are for building up water pressure, not storing water. The water eventually goes to underground pipes, of course.
Some larger office parks even have their own.

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 02:14 PM

See I always thought the British (Union) Flag was just England's flag, since that's what it always seemed to represent, and assumed England and Great Britain were the same thing. Apparently they're not.

England = England
Britain = England, Scotland, Wales, maybe N. Ireland
UK = Britain + Ireland

?

Fuckin' 'ell.

alyasa 08.21.2006 02:23 PM

Right, fucking right.

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 03:45 PM

England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

!@#$%! 08.21.2006 04:10 PM

i thought "Britain" was a brand name invented by New Labor.

get used to it... it's no use fighting geographical terminology. many dutch people would refer to your country just as "engeland" (england) when they actually mean all of britain or uk. bad luck for the scots and the welsh. in the same way many people used to call the soviet-union just russia.

but then again holland isn't the same as the netherlands either, and hardly anyone knows. bad luck for frysians or pretty much everyone living in the north, east and south of the country.

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 05:02 PM

I basically consider all the states to be just "America." So I guess it's the same thing.

Except for Wyoming. We don't really need that...

jheii 08.21.2006 07:25 PM

Haven't we been over this before?
There's a country called "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" So that means that Northern Ireland isn't part of Great Britain, is it? Bahvlahvlablah

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 08:43 PM

would you also like for me to explain to the cretinous american fellows around these parts what the difference is between "britain" and "briton"?

precisely, briton.

porkmarras 08.22.2006 04:18 AM

It's fair to say that the great majority of people in any given country are completley ignorant about other countries' geographical positions or divisions etc etc. It's a bit when both in America or even more in England(not Britain, mind) people assume the the great majority of people really give a damn fuck about the past/present or future of pop culture. That's the way it goes.

So why are there MPs from Northern Irish constituencies in the British parliament then?

Pookie 08.22.2006 06:05 AM

United Kingdom and Great Britain may have different meanings, but in casual conversation their meanings are usually the same.
