Looney Tunes.

I like Pepe Le Pew quite a lot, and of course the interplay between Sylvester and Tweety is always a joy to behlold, but I think it's Wile E Coyote who makes me laugh the most. It doesn't matter how many times Wile E COyote flies head-first into the side of a cliff, it's still howlingly funny. And I call myself an animal lover. Tschh.

4,000 posts.

Legal stuff, from my lawyer: My client Mr Priest has been forced into some placing together of characters due to the ten-option limit. Mr Priest is more than aware that the character 'Tweety', for example, more than merits a sole listing. Furthermore, Mr Priest fully acknowledges that the matter of which fictional anmiatedLooney Tunes entity is the 'funniest' is a wholly subjective concern and that the poll results do not in any way invalidate the existence of the less popular characters. Mr Priest respects all trademarks. That's all...Folks.

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 04:13 PM

they are fucking punk.

sonicl 08.21.2006 04:13 PM

Congratulations, Hip, on your 4000th post.

Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote for me too.

k-krack 08.21.2006 04:14 PM

hahaha, nice touch with the "Thats all.... Folks". I love looney toons. one of the best cartoons ever made. i do love the coyote, but bugs has always made me laugh te most frequently, what with his smart-alec remarks to everything. another great character was foghorn leghorn, and the wole "grammas farm/house" scene. (i mean scene like..group)

atari 2600 08.21.2006 04:15 PM

Daffy Duck toons, especially the early ones, are the funniest.

It was usually Daffy with Bugs or Elmer and Porky or both...

Pookie 08.21.2006 04:16 PM

Congratulations. What a great way to mark the occasion.

Foghorn Leghorn for me, although Bugs would come a very close second.

defcon4 08.21.2006 04:16 PM

Hip Priest, you're right about Wile E. but dead wrong about Sylvester and Tweety. That fucking bird needs to die and Sly always fucks up. Sly fucking up always ruined my Saturday mornings when I was a kid.

!@#$%! 08.21.2006 04:28 PM

the funniest is that weird crow that walks with the music & shakes trees & splits mountains while wearing this long straight face. he doesn't do much really but if i recall he once defeated the tasmanian devil didn't he?

otherwise i like bugs & daffy fucking with elmer fudd

i hate porky though.

ps-- tweety needs to die with a cock in his mouth

atari 2600 08.21.2006 04:31 PM

How 'bout the original (before the series) Duck Dodgers in the 24th century cartoons with Daffy & Marvin the Martian?

Bugs and Marvin were good too & I believe there were a couple with Bugs & Daffy & even Elmer & Porky as well with Marvin. When I was really young, my favorites were Sylvester & Tweety and also The Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote.

the ones with Daffy & Porky might be funniest of all.

afterthefact 08.21.2006 04:32 PM

Daffy, for sure... unjustified over confidance is always good humor...

It's human nature that we see others as Daffy Ducks and ourselves as Bugs Bunny. That's pretty much my world view, anyway. ;)

Trasher02 08.21.2006 05:58 PM

Daffy duck!!!
Bugs is totally overrated...

LifeDistortion 08.21.2006 06:03 PM

I love Looney Tunes, the classic stuff can compete with many live action comedy films, there are some really classic animated shorts done by the fantasic legendary Chuck Jones.

Trasher02 08.21.2006 06:07 PM

I love the banned stuff.

Cheers.

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 06:11 PM

I've always loved Elmer. Especially when he was featured in one of the Gex games and happened to be one of the characters that swore. Back then I found that hilarious for some reason.

Hip Priest 08.21.2006 06:18 PM

I read that the character of Yosemite Sam was created because it was felt that Elmer Fudd was not a strong enough enemy for Bugs Bunny - indeed that he was so dimwitted and pleasant that Bugs' treatment of him amounted to bullying/abuse. Yosemite was a much more an acceptable target of humiliation.

nomadicfollower 08.21.2006 06:25 PM

I went with the Roadrunner cartoons.
I remember, not to long ago, when cartoon network would play all the looney tune cartoons. Tom and Jerry was also a favorite of mine.

static-harmony 08.21.2006 06:31 PM

I would say speedy gonzalez he is way better than road runner

Savage Clone 08.21.2006 06:54 PM

I loathe Pepe LePew. Always did, always will.
I like Wile E Coyote a lot, especially the ones where he talks; he has that "sophisticated super-genius" way of speaking that perfectly complements his utter buffoonery in failure.

I love Marvin Martian/Daffy Duck, and certain phases of Bugs Bunny.
The old, super-offensive racial stereotype cartoons are favorites of mine as well. Whoa.

"Porky In Wackyland" is one of the most psychedelic pieces of animation ever, and it's from 1938!

Hip Priest 08.21.2006 06:57 PM

Poor old Pepe, he has so few fans. He's a beacon of optimism - never giving up. Or a misguided, deluded fool. Depends if you like him or not, I suppose.

I've seen a couple made during World War Two that seem incredible now.

Everyneurotic 08.21.2006 06:58 PM

my favorites are foghorn leghorn and marvin the martian.

Danny Himself 08.21.2006 07:23 PM

I always wanted Daffy to succeed.

when he would fuck it up i would be pissed too, and feel bad for him 'cos he just got crushed by a gigantic boulder or got lauched so fast and so high that he went through the ledge on the giant cliff or something.. i was bummed whenever i watched it.

i did love hearin' "meep meep," though.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 08.21.2006 07:53 PM

BB.

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 07:54 PM

Remember that episode where Wile E. talked and explained the different flavors of roadrunner? What the hell was that? Classic, that's what.

Toilet & Bowels 08.21.2006 09:59 PM

it's too hard to pick a favourite.

!@£$!, were you refering to gogo dodo?

krastian 08.21.2006 11:51 PM

Roadrunner and Wile E.....then Bugs because he fucks with people.

Ah man I forgot about that thing. The original Lemming.

k-krack 08.22.2006 12:34 AM

i never knew his name!

LifeDistortion 08.22.2006 01:10 AM

Gossmer, the hairy creature that chased Bugs Bunny.

Hip Priest 08.22.2006 07:58 AM

What are the names of the two crap gangsters? One's the bossy one, and the other's really dim-witted. I can't remember at all.

Do people prefer Daffy as Daffy or as Duck Dodgers?

And is Marvin funny at all, apart from the voice?

jon boy 08.22.2006 08:12 AM

i liked all of them to be honest. they were on a lot more when i was a kid.

i loved that one.

Hip Priest 08.22.2006 08:13 AM

They used to fill little gaps between progammes, didn't they? That was always good.

porkmarras 08.22.2006 08:15 AM

I voted Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote but there isnt a single one of them that i dislike.Tom & Jerry is my favourite cartoon of all time.

Hip Priest 08.22.2006 08:16 AM

Your vote puts them one ahead of Daffy Duck! Tense.

porkmarras 08.22.2006 08:18 AM

They simply don't make them like that anymore.

jon boy 08.22.2006 08:20 AM

i lovedd the traps in tom and jerry. the really elaborate traps that went on for ages.

there was a real life version of a tom and jerry chain reaction thing made years ago. i think it was called the way things work or something.

rep to anyone who can remember.

Hip Priest 08.22.2006 08:22 AM

the ones in this film are sort of in the same vein

What's thefirst piece of music?
