Warner Bros vs Disney.

The great American cartoon match-up. Maybe.

sonicl 08.21.2006 04:17 PM

Warner Bros rulez.

Disney is for wimps.

Hip Priest 08.21.2006 04:18 PM

I've never liked the Disney stuff either. But Warner Bros are excellent.

Pookie 08.21.2006 04:18 PM

Up until about 2 years ago I would definitely have said Warner Bros. But now it's both.

k-krack 08.21.2006 04:19 PM

disney blows. 'nuff said.

atari 2600 08.21.2006 04:19 PM

Is this a Pixar thing? 'Cos Pixar isn't really Disney, you know.

No, it's having a daughter who loves Snow White and Winnie The Pooh. Children's enjoyment is infectious.

atari 2600 08.21.2006 04:26 PM

Bambi is a great film.

Iain 08.21.2006 06:00 PM

Not a fucking contest even.

Trasher02 08.21.2006 06:04 PM

Loony tunes 4 life yow.

There's an episode on youtube where daffy duck calls bugs an asshole. It's an unaired episode.

Hip Priest 08.21.2006 06:06 PM

Got a link to that?

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 06:13 PM

I'm assuming it's the same general mistake as this.

pooh would be so cute with a little british accent. i hate that "hmmmhmmmhmmm!" laugh he does like luna on sailor moon.

disney made alice in wonderland and sleeping beauty, which are cinematic genius!

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:24 PM

i do agree.. AIW is very cool. but, its not an original make, its based on Through The Looking Glass. and WTP (an old childhood favourite actually) is also based on a book.

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 10:25 PM

yes, we know.

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:26 PM

im merely stating that WB cartoons were original, and disney weren't.. sometimes.. SO, there is more artistic merit to the wb.... y'know?

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 10:26 PM

if you can really call them artistic.

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:36 PM

you know precisely what i mean, so don't you get snippy.

TeamRamRod 08.21.2006 10:37 PM

killing jews or constantly portraying racial stereotypes?

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:38 PM

we all know about the conspiracys surrounding major cartoons man. you don't have to try and act like yr superior.

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:42 PM

diesel. i cant understand you! speak up!

Cantankerous 08.21.2006 10:48 PM

didn't disney make those nazi cartoons?

acousticrock87 08.21.2006 10:50 PM

I think deciding to take on Lewis Carroll's story is more impressive than coming up with an "animated slap-stick." Both required tremendous artistic talent, and Warner Bros. in particular required a revolutionary leap in the art. But conceptually, Disney's movie ideas are more worthy of admiration.

However, as far as normal cartoons, Loony Tunes vs. Mickey stuff, I like Loony Toons way more. Donald bugs the crap out of me, but I find Daffy perfectly tolerable.

There's a Donald Nazi cartoon, but I thought I read that it was anti-Nazi somehow. I didn't watch the whole thing. It's on Youtube.

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:51 PM

walt disney started out making pornographic cartoons... i dont know about nazi. i believe he did involve himself somehow with nazism though....?

i don't really understand the appeal of a talking duck.

k-krack 08.21.2006 10:52 PM

Well I just watched that one and it was definitely anti-Nazi. Actually, as much as I hate Donald, it was hilarious. If not just to watch him heil Hitler.
