What do you do in yr spare time?
well, what do you do in yr spare time?
|
Reading
Movies Sex Message boards, obviously.... |
What kind of books do you read?
|
HP Lovecraft, Richard Brautigan, Burroughs, etc..
Nonfiction stuff about true crime, occult, human oddities, etc... |
I like reading too, but I prefer scientific articles, like scientific american, or books about astronomy, mathematics!
I love poetry, in particular Leopardi.. |
Last poetry book I got was an old Ferlinghetti book. I enjoyed it, though I'm not hugely into poetry.
I also like James Havoc. |
Who has spare time? I suppose I do at the moment. I surf the internet while listening to lectures. Or read.
|
everyone can find spare time, I think..
during my spare time I play my guitar, I listen to the music (non only during my spare time...always..for example on the bus, when I 'm doin' the house work..at school I can't..damn!;-)) , I read..and I dance.. I go outt with my friends ..and I post here! |
I don't count guitar as spare time.
|
no?? Why?
|
Because I am a working musician, and it's practice.
Recording is work, practice is work. The fact that it's damn fun is nice, but to me it is not a "spare time hobby." |
ah I understand...What instrument do you play?
I've been playing guitar for 4 years, and years ago I played the flute and piano...but at last I've chosen electric guitar!;-) |
I play a lot of different string instruments, but mostly guitar. I've been playing guitar since 1982.

Eating, songwriting, recording, practicing, hanging with friends, reading message boards, playing spider solitaire, watching TV.
|
Horrible.....horrible things.
|
I go on long walks with my loved one and our dog.
|
Read, internet, countryside walks, collect things.
|
what do you collect?
|
Antique things (prints, boxes, asorted oddments)
Old books Anything to do with local history (mainly Wirral and Birkenhead, but Liverpool, Chester and Manchester too.). Trade tokens (unnoficial money from 18th-early 20th cetury) Commemorative medals (not military - medals to commemorate the opening of buildings, political reform, important events etc. I like the local history-relatyed and political reform from te mid 19th century best) When I get the chance, I like searching for geological samples too. |
Here, in Italy, in the country where I live, near the river Po ( do you know?) is full of these ancient roman medals, money and also many glasses and plates...
|
Chester (a lovely city very near me) has a big Roman history, so I know a little of the Empire generally, yes. i'm very much a fan of studying history, art and the like.
And we know the Po from the Giovanni Guareschi books of course! |
ah great! so you know Cremona certainly;-)
(it's famous also for the violins, and Stradivari) |
A little, yes.

uhm I don't like tv at all...here in italy is awful...and I hate the stupid reality ....
|
Most TV is poor quality, I think there are three programmes that I make thew effort to watch no matter what.
|
watch italian soccer
read about italian soccer trying to learn how to tune by ear... failing miserably playing my out of tune guitar watch movies |
I don't even watch TV anymore. The only time I watch it is when my friends are and I have nothing better to do. I dislike the whole idea of the commercial promotion that TV portrays.

painting
reading playing guitar watch TV ...... |
I love painting too!!! What artists do you like most?
|
May I join in the art bit? I'm not so good, but I can do top threes:
Dead artists: Paul Klee, Hilda Carline, Walter Richard Sickert. Living artists: MArk Wallinger, Damien Hirst, Susan Hiller. Not much painting as such in those three, but there you are. |
I listen to music mostly. It's the most relaxing thing I can do. I try to sleep but I find it very hard. TV is ok but it's not healthy to watch it all the time, like most people in western civalization do.
