Cheese

Cheese - it's caused more violence, bloodshed and hatred than any other historical phenomena. It has split nations, divided societies and run amok in the world of philosophy. Some believe in it passionately and worship it, others refuse to believe that it exists.

Or is that religion?

Damn. Vote anyway...

HaydenAsche 03.21.2006 05:18 PM

I like Parmesan cheese and Cheddar cheese when I'm eating cheese, which is not very often.

golden child 03.21.2006 05:19 PM

BRIE

why isnt that on the list?

Everyneurotic 03.21.2006 05:29 PM

people always leave mozzarella out for some dumb reason.

best cheese, least gagable

Hip Priest 03.21.2006 05:31 PM

Mozzarella is the biggest selling cheese in the UK, unbelievably.

I didn't leave it out, you only get ten choices, max.

I voted for Cheshire. Mmmm...

Because you only get ten options.

I left one for you to click that says 'other cheese' or something.

I was as nice as possible.

Ten isn't so many to play with.

Sorry.

screamingskull 03.21.2006 05:33 PM

Ooh, Sainsbury's do ace cheese.

Their farmhouse Lancashire is tip top.

And they do Tintern too. Lovely.

TheDom 03.21.2006 05:37 PM

Where the fuck is the provolone?

Phlegmscope 03.21.2006 05:41 PM

Edam because it's cheapest, although still too pricey for me to buy it all the time.

Read the description for the Non Sonics section on the main page. I defy you to think of something more appropriate to that description thaan me putting a poll up about cheese.

:)

sellouteater 03.21.2006 06:26 PM

What about sonic cheese
yummy!!!!

strictlycommercial 03.21.2006 07:00 PM

Sonic cheese just sounds like a seriously shitty description of some seriously shitty music.

I'm almost there with you on the stilton but i'd probably go for a goat's blue or something. Actually I could go for one right now...

thewall91 03.21.2006 07:03 PM

I'd have listed singles, so I could vote for Method of Modern Love!

Pick a cheese, thewall91. If I was there, I'd buy you a block for your birthday.

Glice 03.21.2006 07:17 PM

There was some Stilton in our cupboard that we forgot about. It went a bit wrong. But it was very, very right. Mmm.

Can't stomach the blue stuff, but plain or with cranberries etc is fine.

Bought a huge block of Gouda today, 'cause Sainsbury's had it cheap at the deli counter. F*&^ knows what I'm going to do with it all!

Inhuman 03.22.2006 09:09 AM

Cheese curds are the shit

Hip Priest 03.22.2006 09:11 AM

Care to enlighten us as to the constituent components of one of those things?

It's pretty much mozerella deep fried with oil. I guess the A & W picture isn't too adequite to what they really are, since it's commercialized and makes it look terrible.

sonicl 03.22.2006 09:33 AM

A chunk o' cheddar between two doorsteps with a mighty splash o' Branston, it just can't be beat!

Glice 05.09.2006 07:01 PM

Bump. I don't think there've been enough responses to this crucial question.

CHOUT 05.09.2006 07:52 PM

Pepper Jack
Provelone
Swiss

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.09.2006 07:55 PM

I am a huge fan of Brie cheese, as well as Mozzarella.

_slavo_ 05.10.2006 05:20 AM

damn you guys,
there is one fucking bloody awesome type of cheese that is only produced in my country...it's called 'Bryndza' or 'Liptauer Cheese' and it tasted maybe a bit unusual at first, but then you fall in love with it.

it's part of our national heritage.

Trasher02 05.10.2006 06:55 AM

how about regular cheese?

RdTv 05.10.2006 07:09 AM

Stilton
Sharp Cheddar
Pepper Jack
Mozzarella
Camenburg
and some others.............

Ah, see, the interesting thing about this thread is that, given the international nature of cheeses, we get to find out what 'regular' means in different countries - for instance, in the UK it's Cheddar, but Slavo has just said that his country has a different 'regular' cheese. This is the fascinating thing, see?

Incidentally, I live not far from Cheddar, and the Cheddar you get elsewhere is entirely different to Cheddar in Cheddar, ie, Cheddar Cheddar is better.

_slavo_, calm down dude. Please. You only get ten poll options on this forum - I've appealed for more, but to no avail. The job of poll-maker demands ruthlessness in one's selection policies. There's something like 700 types of British cheese alone according to the British Cheese Council, so you can see my dilemma.

What does Bryndza taste like? Are there any similar British cheeses.

And when are you going to post somemore of your ambient stuff?

pokkeherrie 05.10.2006 07:21 AM

hmm, slightly biased toward british cheeses this poll is... i'm not sure if i even have tasted most of those.

i voted for gouda, since it's pretty much what i grew up with and what i eat the most. but i like mozarella, gorgonzola and brie too. what's favourite just really depends on what other food i'm having cheese with.

cool, man. of course I didn't blame ya for not knowing about a kind of cheese typical for a country with around 5 milion population. ;-). I just wanted to point out that there's some special kind of cheese that most of ya probably don't know...

It's rather salty, it's a cheese made of sheep milk. Delicious!

This is my music site, I got three mp3s over there. Check it out!!!:
