Eastern US Vs Western US
What do you like better?
|
The west. East-coast is way to fast-paced for me. The further west you go in America the calmer everything is. If you go too far south it gets a little nasty though.
|
For nature, West.
For urban, East. I like the fact that the drive times between cities are so short as well. Pennsylvania is also one of the most naturally beautiful states I have been to, so the East gets points there too. |
I have lived on the east coast my whole life, DC is becoming too boring for me, partially cause i live in the MD suburbs i don't go downtown that often, let alone I don't know where the hangouts are, NYC was nice when i visited, St Marks Place and Williamsburg were very fun but i really couldn't see my self living there, I hate going to Pittsburgh, the Penn Turnpike is the worst road i have ever been on, (two lanes, toll, jersey barriers, hardly any exits, and crazy fucking truck drivers)
the West was the nicest area i have ever been too, Long Beach was like Ocean City. MD on steroids, Sunset Blvd was extremely cool, but pricey, Portland was very green and very quiet, it doesn't seem like a major city at all, Seattle was the best though, 1.25 for a bus ride, close to 100 thai restauraunts, more record stores, all they need is an NHL team and i am there |
And what the hell is up with allowing semi trucks to have THREE TRAILERS out there in Pennsylvania?
Shit's crazy, especially when they pass you on a windy day. |
MIDWEST, Motherfucker.
Sippin' WHOLE milk, Motherfucker. We beat all of your asses. |

Fuck yeah. Sonic life. |
I'm from the southeast, but I like the west; however, not for any of the cities you mentioned in the poll. I'm a fan of Montana, but it gets too cold. I also like the northern part of New Mexico. Probably has something to do with my love of nature. The only state that does it for me in the east is North Carolina.

Honestly, I'll take Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City and St. Louis over all of the cities mentioned. |
WORD, cyrillic name.
I love Minneapolis and Chicago. |
I want to go to Chicago and Minneapolis pretty badly. I'm thinking of trying to book myself a midwest tour next summer.
|
Westcoast bitches, but then again next year I'm moving to New York, so for now West Coast.

I'm not sure what coast, I've been to both and they were both cool. I've spent more time west, but the east was awesome (NYC, Philly, NJ) and we saw alot in a short time, so we didn't have much time to explore. |
The west is the best.

Agreed, except for St. Louis, which I hold a long standing and never ending grudge with. |
i like antartica better.

east coast. fuck you west-coast tree huggers. i like the midwest though. chicago is great. st. louis, where i am doomed to be located forever, kind of sucks however.
|
I aint no fucking west coast tree huggers. I say fucke them that's why we have such a bad reputation.
|
There is a town in california somewhere where smoking is banned in all public places, even on the street i think?
|
Oh yeah Calabasas, fucking hippy town.
|
fuck them and your whole state. LA is alright though.
|

I thought you were moving to NYC? |
I live in L.A. so I'm okay, but I hate these hippy towns all along the state.

There's two other states on the west that you all seem to be forgetting. The two awesome ones.
|
Finances are a concern when it comes to surviving in New York.
|
a lot of my expendable income would have been gone, plus there would be the issue of getting a new job, etc etc.
|
I have to think of all that, I am saving money for next year, just to have so I could survive three months meanwhile I look for a job and so forth.

Ah, I love St. Louis. I've had a great time down there both times I was there. On the first occasion, we crossed the bridge by accident. Wow. |
LA made me feel very uncomfortable.
|
lets get a little more refined...
PACIFIC NORTHWEST! |

WHy did it make you feel uncomfortable? |
there is a noticeable superficiality in the air. you can smell it.
oh wait no. that's just the smog. |
Lol Yeah I'm used to the smog, it is refreshing after you wake up in the morning.
|
as long as it's not australia, everything's good
|

AHA! I wanted to go in there badly, our hotel was right across the street from there, but it wasn't open. Instead we got drunk at the bar right next door, or a few doors down, on the corner. I don't remember the name of the bar, but it was a blast. That area, The Landing, had awesome bars. Plus the abandoned Planet Hollywood that was sort of creepy. What goes on at Mississippi Nights? I must reuturn there. Static: I can't put my finger on it, but LA really rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't there for a very long time, which may have something to do with it. Rural California was neat though. |
Yeah The countryside of California is the best, I really like it. I remember as a kid, my parents used to take us to the countryside of California, it was just amazing.
