London

Let's give London the love that it rarely seems to get from the londoners themselves. Here are some images of it that i love.Let's not forget that London is a great place and if people tell you otherwise, either they have never been to it or they are just insane.

London

Smoke
Lingers 'round your fingers
Train
Heave on - to Euston
Do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?
Oh ...

You left
Your tired family grieving
And you think they're sad because you're leaving
But did you see jealousy in the eyes
Of the ones who had to stay behind ?
And do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?

You left
Your girlfriend on the platform
With this really ragged notion that you'll return
But she knows
That when he goes
He really goes
And do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?

London Calling

London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the reign of that truncheon thing

CHORUS
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
Cause London is burning and I, I live by the river

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go at it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out - and draw another breath
London calling - and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no hide
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

CHORUS x2
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, I live by the river

Now get this
London calling, yes, I was there, too
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
London Calling

I never felt so much alike, like-a, like-a...

Werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
walkin through the streets of Soho in the rain.
He was lookin for the place called Lee Ho Fooks, gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.

Chorus:
Aaahoo, werewolves of London
Aaahoo(2x)

Ya hear him howlin around your kitchen door, ya better not let him in.
Little old lady got mutilated late last night, werewolves of London again.

Chorus 2x

He's the hairy, hairy gent, who ran amok in Kent.
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair.
You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out Jim.
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor.

Chorus 2x

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin with the queen, doing the werewolves of London.
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin with the queen, doin the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect.

ahhhooooo, werewolves of London
Draw blood

London Boys

Bow Bells strike another night
Your eyes are heavy and your limbs all ache
You've bought some coffee, butter and bread
You can't make a thing cause the meter's dead
You moved away
Told your folks you're gonna stay away

Bright lights, Soho, Wardour street
You hope you make friends with the guys that you meet
Somebody shows you round
Now you've met the London boys
Things seem good again, someone cares about you

Oh, the first time that you tried a pill
You feel a little queasy, decidedly ill
You're gonna be sick, but you mustn't lose face
To let yourself down would be a big disgrace
With the London boys, with the London boys

You're only seventeen, but you think you've grown
In the month you've been away from your parents' home
You take the pills too much
You don't give a damn about the job you've got
So long as you're with the London boys

A London boy, oh a London boy
Your flashy clothes are your pride and joy
A London boy, a London boy
You think you've had a lot of fun
But you ain't got nothing, you're on the run
It's too late now, cause you're out there boy
You've got it made with the rest of the toys
Now you wish you'd never left your home
You've got what you wanted but you're on your own
With the London boys

Now you've met the London boys
Now you've met the London boys
Now you've met the London boys

Cities

Think of London, a small city

Its dark, dark in the daytime
The people sleep, sleep in the daytime
If they want to, if they want to

Chorus

Im checking them out
Im checking them out
I got it figured out
I got it figured out
Theres good points and bad points
Find a city
Find myself a city to live in.

There are a lot of rich people in Birmingham
A lot of ghosts in a lot of houses
Look over there!...a dry ice factory
A good place to get some thinking done

Down El Paso way things get pretty spread out
People got no idea where in the world they are
They go up north and come back south
Still got no idea where in the world they are.
Did I forget to mention, to mention Memphis
Home of Elvis and the Ancient Greeks
Do I smell? I smell home cooking
Its only the river, its only the river.

London Bridge is falling down/falling down/falling down/London Bridge is falling down/My Fair Lady

I want ot visit London and live in it for a couple of months.

Glice 11.03.2006 05:18 PM

London has lots of good and lots of bad. For every five bads that happen in a day, you'll have a life-changing good. The only problem is when you go elsewhere, and are surprised that you walked down the shop and didn't have a Polish lady ask you if you wanted to buy an exhaust, or that no one tried to make you dance, or that you didn't fall in love at least twelve times in five minutes... or other things.

I <3 London.

whorefrost 11.03.2006 05:19 PM

I <3 London.

The sexiest person in town is the russian lady who works behind the counter of one my local shops. Those features and that accent are enough for platonic bisexuality.

glorious

static-harmony 11.03.2006 05:23 PM

I may move to New York instead of London.

Glice 11.03.2006 05:23 PM

Russian girls are murder. Indian girls are murder too. In fact, nearly the whole of the rest of the world's women are murder. Moving away from London did have a positive effect on my horniness, at least.

porkmarras 11.03.2006 05:26 PM

The tired motto of 'No Sex we're British' only applies to,god knows,Cumbria?

I have one of the longest trails of aquantancies in the world.

static-harmony 11.03.2006 05:31 PM

What other places, have you visited porky?

porkmarras 11.03.2006 05:33 PM

Most places in Europe but not as much as i'd like outside of it.

static-harmony 11.03.2006 05:34 PM

Oh have you been to New York? or Los Angeles?

Norma J 11.03.2006 10:56 PM

The UK makes you wanna fucking neck yourself. Rarely any sun. Not that I dislike it, but it's not a place to live.

sonicl 11.04.2006 01:59 AM

Hmmm, interesting use of the word "neck". Here in the UK the use of the word "neck" as a verb usually refers to kissing. I assume that your use refers to hanging oneself, though?

Norma J 11.04.2006 02:43 AM

Yes, that is be correct.

Washing Machine 11.04.2006 08:04 AM

Yes I live in Wales and it never stops fucking raining. I've been to London a few times and didn't much care for it. A bit to big for my liking. Cardiff is quite good because its just big enough, you have everything that a major city has but without the pollution and you can walk down the major high streets and know at least 2 or or 3 people. Its a strange place as every sign is spelt in English and Welsh and anyone whos knows anything about the Welsh language will know it looks and sounds like it was invented by a drunk.

king_buzzo 11.04.2006 08:05 AM

london is awesome. my dad lives there

Confucious is sex 11.04.2006 08:44 AM

I live in London and regularly see people I know walking down the high street, I also know all the lads who work on the market and was, in fact, married to one of them until recently. My family have all moved on, but I live with my formerly racist grandfather, his Bible bashing wife and my inexplicably ginger city trader cousin. It's great living in London, someone dies around Christmas every year...

No, hang on, what I've done there is confused my life with that of Sonia off of Eastenders

Danny Himself 11.04.2006 09:11 AM

London is a hellhole. And yes, I have been there, and no, I am not insane.

No offense, but does your location not read, "Liverpool, England"? I like Liverpool, but I certainly wouldn't choose to live there for any length of time. Or have you acquired that strange North/ South divide thing that only Scallies and Mancs actually care about?

whorefrost 11.04.2006 03:44 PM

i'd say manchester > london

whorefrost 11.04.2006 03:44 PM

leave the capitol!

whorefrost 11.04.2006 03:45 PM

best cities in the UK are Edinburgh and Glasgow

toxic johnny 11.04.2006 07:06 PM

Well I have a real love/hate relationship with this city and have lived here since 1985... I absolutely love it to death and first visited it in 1977... I am however now thinking that I need to leave the capitol for a while.

But when I have a day like I've had today taking in 2 movies and a beautiful afternoon spent in Soho record hunting... I know that I'd miss it dearly if I ever left... the hustle... the bustle... the beauty.

Tomorrow I'm going to Hampstead Heath... Therein lies the dilemma... what would I do without this amazing metropolis.

Yes, it does. I would not choose to live in Liverpool either. I find all UK cities depressing. My dislike of London is not founded in that North/South divide cliche, no. I just cannot stand to be in London. I find it more depressing than Liverpool. I'm sure Catherine Tate and Eastenders may have something to do with it also. Don't forget Hugh Grant. Fucking tosser.

Cantankerous 11.04.2006 11:17 PM

one of my favorite cities i've ever visited. i can't fucking wait till december.

Toilet & Bowels 11.05.2006 11:27 AM

it's ok, there're lots of opportunities to do things, and i like the area i live in, but i hope i don't have to live in london all my life, there're just too many things that piss me off.

jon boy 11.05.2006 12:32 PM

its not like any other city in britain, but its so overpriced. it used to intimidate me and scare me but i do like it a lot now. prefer berlin though.

Alex's Trip 11.05.2006 12:39 PM

I'd like to go to London.
