there's a couple others I believe. I love it here, I love Macon, I just feel I've experienced everything this place has to offer. I've been to just about every place the south has to offer, period. I've just got friends in that area and an opportunity I'd be foolish to not take advantage of. I'll def. be back from time to time. |
Macon is gorgeous. Very small, yet intimate/close musical community. Everyone plays in everyone elses band at some point kinda place. Just a bit burned out on it.

people are very creative there

I see...what neighborhood?
|
Lakeview. Roscoe Village is the immediate neighborhood.. I'm moving in with a friend of mine. POSSIBLY a job already lined up, too.

Yeh...area isn't bad. I used to live a little northwest from there. (Albany Park) Quite easy to get around too. |
Getting out of the hotel business, I hope?

What savage said. Funny I saw a thunderbolt pagoda record at Logan hardware. Also reckless in wicker park isn't too bad.
|
I cherish my Thubfervolt Pagoda Lp like I cherish my penis.

if dusty groove is still there it's pretty good. it's just south of wicker park or in the southern part of wicker park.

Yeh just south of it pretty much. And also some of Chicago's best tacos! La pasadita is the place to eat if yer near division and Ashland.

Anyhow, the cynic in me is weary of the "urban, eclectic, artsy vibe" that Chicago is supposed to embody. I've learned that it's possible to be overly inundated by a community of roguish artistes, and frankly, at this point they can unceremoniously blow me. Chicagoans are always trying to go that next step further, break that next boundary, advance the avant garde. This assault on the intellect and senses has personally left me desensitized and apathetic. I've decided that creativity is masturbatory, overdone, and often ineffective. GIVE UP. YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL. Welcome to Chicago! |

I don't think Chicago is alone in that at all. Better that, than a community that has little-to-nothing to offer in the way of art. |
