where to find used/vintage cheap guitars?

for all you holland people, where cant you find them?
ive looked on different sites but they only had expensive shit...

we dont have pawn shops here as far as i know...

CHOUT 11.14.2006 09:08 PM

In that case the net is your best bet.

You have thrift stores, yard sales? There's gotta be some decent music stores, right? Just keep looking.

next step 11.15.2006 05:21 AM

yes the net could be very useful, I bought everything on eBay, payments thru paypaul!

next step 11.15.2006 05:29 AM

then you could ask to remove the neck from the body for a more safe shipment, I did and works fine. then you should ask to declare something like 50$ for the item cause otherwise you have to pay over taxes more for an used item.

HaydenAsche 11.15.2006 10:06 AM

No Pawn Shops? That sucks, man. CHOUT's advice is probably best.

ive checked 2 or 3 stores already, but the thing is they're so incredibly overpriced and there are only the really expensive brands.

i found quite a lot of stuff that i like, but assholes wont ship to holland.

and yeah, we dont have thrift stores :(

theres a blackmarket next weekend i think and i will check that out because i need a new record player as well.

i found a very vintage no name guitar, only 1 tele deluxe pickup, mustang like body for 40 on one of those sales. didnt buy it though it had extreme tension

Jesus Christ... sometimes I wonder if we live in the same country, king buzzo! You make it sound like you live in outer Mongolia instead of in one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Do you ever go outside at all?

Of course there are pawn shops (pandhuizen) in Holland... there's a goddamn Cash Converters almost opposite of my work place. Google for cash converters or "pandhuis" plus the name of the city you live in. There are also plenty of thrift stores (ever heard of the Kringloopwinkel!?) or yard sales (rommelmarkt, vrijmarkt, beurs, etc, etc...)

Also, a lot of guitar shops sell second hand stuff... there's a second hand section ("occasions") on www.feedback.nl for instance. And I'm sure your local guitar shop has second hand stuff too. Also check the good old (local) newspaper for advertisements, etc..

And of course the internet... other than http://www.ebay.nl there's a ridiculous amount of online marketplaces in holland like www.marktplaats.nl, http://www.marktplaza.nl, http://www.2dehands.nl and about a gazillion others...

which you could find here
http://gitaar.startpagina.nl/
http://marktplaats.startpagina.nl/
http://tweedehands.startpagina.nl/

king_buzzo 11.15.2006 12:43 PM

thanks for input man!

kringlop has cheap vinyl.

thanks again

king_buzzo 11.15.2006 12:57 PM

i cant find any pawn shops in the hague on the internet.

only free add sites show on google search...

pokkeherrie 11.15.2006 01:08 PM

aargh, there are 3 cash converters in the hague!
http://www.cashconverters.nl/main.php?cid=19

http://www.cashconverters.nl/
they even have a webstore... and also an ebay store.
and there's a feedback guitar shop in rotterdam, that's not far away.

but if that doesn't work then maybe you should try http://www.i-need-a-cheap-guitar-and...goddammit.com/

king_buzzo 11.15.2006 01:10 PM

king_buzzo 11.19.2006 01:47 PM

which one?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 11.19.2006 01:54 PM

Purpleguitars has some NICE stuff. Check out this Jag:

king_buzzo 11.19.2006 01:56 PM

yeah man, i went there

that jag is about 1100 euros, and its Cij refinish, so i think it should be waay cheaper.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 11.19.2006 02:37 PM

I wonder how a Jazzmaster with that pickguard/color scheme would look.

king_buzzo 11.19.2006 02:40 PM

pretty awesome. better then the jag

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 11.19.2006 03:24 PM

Whenever I can finally afford a jazzmaster- I'm going to get one like that.

king_buzzo 11.19.2006 03:28 PM

My friend just got a tele with this color scheme, looks cool. Belinda from MBV had one like this.

Danny Himself 11.19.2006 06:26 PM

Sunburst Jazzmasters look ugly to me. They're just too cliche. My favorite Jazzmaster color schemes are Vintage White w/ Tortoise Shell pickguard, Candy Apple Red w/ white pickguard, and that cool Blue w/ Black pickguard Thurston had.

sonikold 11.20.2006 12:03 PM

this is my new baby, should be here next week-

oh yeah, it's a 60s REGAL.

king_buzzo 11.20.2006 12:05 PM

that guitar is sexy!

looks really beautiful, maybe you will work on it a little bit!

some months ago I got a late 1800 german gtr on eBay.Two world war werent enought for it! It was a relic however but I made a good work and I added a pickup for classical instruments inside. It's very tiny and sounds great.
