Why don't you want to go down there? It's clearly not that you don't care. I don't think that you need to go there for your sister's sake, there's going to be plenty of time for you to give support to her later, but, by the sound of it, your mum would appreciate the support that you'd give HER if you went with her. But if you think that if you went down there you'd end up going looking for the guy to kick the crap out of him, then it's probably best that you don't go. The last thing you'd want is for him to turn up on your sister's doorstep looking all wounded and using that as a way of getting her sympathy.

well its just that its 600 km away, by the time we get there it will be 4 in the morning. Mom has been at work all day, she is now stressing over this situation, its 8:00 pm here now, i just dont think its safe.

600 km is a hell of a distance to be driving at night, especially since your mum must be exhausted anyway just with the emotion of all this, let alone the fact that it's nighttime. Find a way to get your mum to calm down, and say that you'll go with her in the morning. Do you have a driving licence? If you do, tell her that you'll share the driving. If she persists in wanting to go right now, try and get her to have a couple of drinks to calm her nerves, and then tell her it would be dangerous for her to drive after the drinks and that she'll HAVE to wait until morning.

yeh thanks man, iv said most of that, i cant drive, so that idea is gone, my sister convinced my abused sister to atleast go to the hospital, which will then hopefully convince her to press charges, i sat with my mom and told her that its late and if she needs to go go in the morning, but the problem withthat is, she says she prob wont be able to sleep tonight.

I can understand what your mum says about not being able to sleep. Could you and she go now, let her drive for a couple of hours, and then you suggest that you stop at a motel for two or three hours to rest, and then continue the journey when it gets light?
