I can second that...the album's awesome.
And the rumour that paulybee is Alan Sparhawk, is nothing but false.

sure.

Savage Clone 12.31.2006 03:19 PM

For the record, I am not Zak.
I shared a studio with him until last month, but I am definitely not him.
Great guy. His comix rule!

This new album has been described as their "Kid A" by some.

Everyneurotic 12.31.2006 07:20 PM

whorefrost 01.01.2007 09:45 AM

Huh? What was that about Arab Strap?

_slavo_ 01.02.2007 04:37 AM

Yo hablo espanol, pero solo un poquito.

Regards,
Mimi.

With the exception that Radiohead will never make as magnificient an album as this.Do these motherfuckers ever run out of ideas?

Everyneurotic 01.03.2007 04:31 PM

after giving it a few listens, i can say that the album is good, but not as outstanding as it's made out to be, some of those experiments just don't work and then songs, especially on the first half, are too short to really get into. the first half is kinda boring, while the second half is simply majestic, murderer being my personal favorite song.

porkmarras 01.03.2007 04:42 PM

So far my favourites are 'Violent Past' and 'Murderer'(what a tune!).After repeated listenings it feels a bit more fragmented an album than their previous ones but it still shits on so much stuff that passes for genius these days.My only disppointment is that they seem to have concentrated more on the sounds than the vocals but it is indeed a small matter as Low are Low and there is only one Low.

Everyneurotic 01.03.2007 04:48 PM

actually, i really here more of the alan/mimi harmonies on this one more than the great destroyer, which they sort of left a little at the side to focus more on rock songs (i do think of tgd as an experimental record for them as well as d&g), my beef is that they don't let them flow as much.

as i said it, the last half of the album and especially the last two songs on it are MAJESTIC!

porkmarras 01.03.2007 04:53 PM

The vocals seem less intricated and,as you said, they should have let them stretch and flow like only they can do.I can see what you mean about The Great Destroyer. You have to pardon my wild enthusiasm but this is the only band that could convince me to set foot into a church other than for a wedding or a funeral.

Glice 01.03.2007 05:02 PM

And the Union Chapel's not there any more is it?

porkmarras 01.03.2007 05:17 PM

It is.
