wow... 2007 albums
the new deerhoof, ghost, low, do make say think, and jesu are already owning me. 2007 is already off to a good start.
except the new hella which is horrible. |
the new hella is the best thing from 2007.
|
2007 hasnt started yet guys.... TUESDAY will bring the first batch of disease.
|
haha the new hella is incredible musically. but the vocals ... man ... well hopefully someone has a copy of the album without that dude.

not if you are the enemy...i mean a rock journalist. adam: i doubt it exist, they are ecstatic having a singer; i guess it depends how much (or if) you like voivod to get over the vocals. |
Or if you have access to a computer because EVERY album gets leaked apparantly these days.
|
i wouldnt be surprised if labels leak their own albums to create some buzz...
|
labels leak albums, they give away promo versions to record stores, radio stations, journalists, so they can hear albums before they are available to the public to build momentum.
their issue about the whole internet thing is not that the music gets leaked but because they have no control over it (they don't know who exactly is getting this). |
YEAH, but they KNOW by giving away promos they are going on the internet. they also know WHO is putting it on and they give it to them.
|
There will undoubtably be a new Xiu Xiu as well.
Artists that need new albums: Cat Power - The Greatest was far less important than MOon Pix. Xiu Xiu - Please, Jamie? I care about no one else. |
next animal collective
|
also "reformation post tlc" by the fall
|
i hope all those bands from 2006 who put out 5 new CDRs every month that all sound the same put out some stuff this year too
|
ditto that
|
of the ones ive heard deerhoof, do say make think, boris, low, jesu all rule...
its been aseason of leaked prereleases alright but no leak of the falls new one! gah!!!! |
hella ispretty good but alas i havent listened to it in full yet...
and i forgot the new explosions in the sky one. thats pretty sweet indeed! |
i find listening to leaked albums a bit depressing
|
only if they are shit!
|
I have the leaked Deerhoof album and it sounds very good. Far as other releases that are anticipated in my fandom are: Radiohead album(for nothing else than to kill the suspense and prove my point), Portishead, more from Acid Mothers Temple, more from NNCK, more from Sunburned, and a good DJ Shadow album.
|
new eits rules all. ha ha.
|
Will the new Portishead album ever come out?
|
New STOOGES album in March.

i hope acid mothers temple would release less albums, i still can't decide which one was best in 2006. hopefully they'll release something as the incredible strange band though. |

Despite Chris Cohen being out, I like some of the guitar tones on the new Deerhoof, and it's good overall, but Milk Man and The Runners Four are both better. The songs aren't as cohesive on the new one. This is despite the arrangements being even perhaps more "conventional" really. Love the ostinato riffage though. One blemish is that, for some reason, Saunier sounds a bit strained to me on most of the new one.
Deerhoof came through here last year and are coming again in February. They start off their tour this time in Japan with OOIOO and then head over to L.A. with Hella. http://deerhoof.killrockstars.com/shows.html Yo La Tengo are coming here in Feb. Acid Mothers Temple are coming here in April. Trans Am too. |

I'd love to see Acid Mothers Temple live. YLT also, but much prefer acid mothers....any tour dates on their website?? |
There'll surely be some new Birchville Cat Motel album's this year that I will purchase and enjoy. I'm also looking forward to the new Pink Reason album.

I hope at least one of those albums sounds different. |
atari mentioned trans am. im listening to an advance copy of their new one at the moment. its really good. its totally changed direction halfway thru, its like a derailed train struggling to keep up speed going thru a muddy field, uphil.
jeez, the album is better than what that last statement makes it sound.. god im fucking hungover still. time to turn off pc before the bullshit gets filled with even more type-os and .................................................. ........ |

indeed, the last time i listened to a leaked album i was bitterly depressed, because the record was awful (rather ripped) |

That gets so very expensive though. |
well i'm not going to buy CDs this year anyway (unless their are special circumstances) due to being on the verge of financial ruin. i'm only allowed to buy only 7"s and tapes for the next 12 months.
|
Bowels, can i expect to bump into you in record shop basements then?
|
I've been doing that myself for the last couple of months. Budgeting with my music buying. Its sort of a downer. But I don't miss the asshole record store workers.
