soulseek question
In order to download something does the other user have to be loged on? Because I cant seem to download anything.
Yes the other user has to be logged in, look for the search results in bold black instead of grey.
cool thanks.
Soulseek never really worked well for me. I could never find anything...
Whats worse is how long some of the downloads take or when it says 'qued' !!!!! Total frustration...
When you search and get results, Пятхъдесят Шест, just press QUEUE and it'll show all of the unqueued results first.
And if you're using a router, make sure you configure your ports properly, or that will really slow down file transfers.
I haven't tried in a while, but I did this time and actually found something!
Big Black-Songs about fucking I'd buy it, but my parents wouldn't be down with it. A rare occasion where I will download a whole album. |
I could YSI Big Black....
Alex's Trip- Haha, every time I go to the record store with my mom she sees that album and goes "Ugh".
i just got soulseek yesterday, i am struggling with certain files but others have been downloaded easily. My conclusion is It is a good thing massively.

I agree. Soulseek can be a hassle, but it pays off in the long run. It has practically everything under the sun.
I've found almost all of my music just from soulseek.
I just installed soulseek but I'm completely lost here, I can't really find any music. Is that the software or is it just the dumbass in me?
is it connected?
click "connection" in the top corner and then choose connect from the menu, there should be a little blue bird nect to the time in the bottom right corner of your screen if it's connected properly. |
Weird.. I have had Soulseek for a good 5 years, have found EVERYTHING on it -- tons of obscure Japanese bands, the most-unheard-of most-unheard-of experimental groups, even Scissor Shock from people I don't know at all! -- with no trouble at all. Just set up your wishlist. I've also installed Soulseek on at least 20 people's computers and they've never had a problem with it. And how is soulseek a hassle? Honestly, how could they make it any easier?! I mean, geez, if you want a hassle, check out O!NK. Not trying to be mean, but I find this thread a little hard to believe; soulseek is perfect.Add BaD-CooL, i300e, and Robe Flesh for some goodies.

Soulseek is the first thing since Kazaa that has worked for me, and its been years since I messed with Kazaa. Still, I tend to focus more on blogs when I'm looking for music. I only get on Soulseek when I'm desperate for something and it can't be found elsewhere.

I remember being 14 and wanting to purchase albums with potentially offensive covers and/or titles whilst shopping with my mom. And I made a big effort out of sneaking it all past her.
About a month ago I was copying Songs About Fucking for a friend of mine, and had it sitting out in the open because it's been a while since I thought to be ashamed of something like that. My mom saw it and made an audible GASP, and I went "Oh, you'd love it. I'll make you a copy too." She turned down my offer, which was a bummer, but I think she also realized she was just pretending to be offended in the first place and that this was ridiculous behavior on her part. I guess she thought being offended was the proper reaction. This is a thing she pulls every now and then, and my brothers and I have gotten good at making sure she doesn't take herself too seriously by basically not giving her the satisfaction of getting to watch us try to explain ourselves, which is what parents like to see I think. They want to see their kids be made to feel uncomfortable in that kind of situation. But really, the fact that she thought for a second that I might be made uncomfortable by an album cover was silly. |
My mum thought it was audio porn.
