boring... but i hope lily allen wins something.
It's rather sweet that Cat Power is in the International Female Solo Artist category, but she ain't gonna win, she's only there to try to give the awards some credibility.
I'd like to see SY in the International Group category. Although it's more likely that some dimwit would put them in for International Breakthrough. |
How many 'outstanding contribution to music' awards can Oasis be nominated for?
And what exactly is their contribution to music anyway?
(That was a bit of a cheap shot wasn't it?) |
I beg your pardon?
I said:
"AND WHAT EXACTLY IS THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC ANYWAY?" and I then admitted that that was a bit of cheap shot. |
Calm down.
Hey? You didn't hear the first time, so I said it again louder. There was nothing to calm down about.
There is now though. You've made me angry again. Grrr. |
bring back samantha fox and mick fleetwood i say.
Did you watch that 'worst tv moments' bollocks over christmas?

its been repeated in slow motion for all to see for years. i remember it being on the first time.
as for the brits nowadays its just shit acts getting drunk and acting like twats. oh wait... |
i was reffering to the brits but i suppose it could be applied to you two as well.
Hey, Porky, do you want to be Sam or Mick?
You're taller than me so i'll be Sam and you'll be Mick.
You do realise that that'll mean you'll have to fancy women, don't you?
If it's only for one night.........
and a pink wig.
Anyway, getting back to the nominations, the results I'd like to see are:
British Male Solo Artist Jarvis Cocker British Female Solo Artist Lily Allen (although she's become bloody irritating lately) British Group None of them British Album Lily Allen - Alright Still British Single Sandi Thom - I wish I was a punk rocker British Breakthrough Act Lily Allen British Live Act I haven't a clue International Male Solo Artist Justin Timberlake International Female Solo Artist Christina Aguilera International Group Gnarls Barkley International Album I don't know International Breakthrough Act Gnarls Barkley |
the results i would like to see is an incident where the roof falls in or something and the only person who survives is jenny flakener.
My 15-year old niece likes them.
Yes, the Kooks. I'm trying to think who else she likes.
EDIT - Oh yes, she likes Razorlight and Snow Patrol too. She's beyond saving. |
You Greeks and your rhetoric!
us brits and our bad teeth.
I don't like awards ceremonies that I can't influence the outcome of.
brit awards... bing back sam fox and mick the plank fleetwood and i may watch it! thom yorke is too good to win it so i hope the prize goes to jarvis "look at my arse michael" cocker because i respect him, and his new album is actually really good!

well said sir!!!!!!! |
Shouldn't the Artic Monkey get their lifetime achievement award already? I mean they must be going into what is at least their second year by now.

and lilly allen has been around for at least a year so should be getting a contribution to the music industry award.
how drunk will charlotte church get do you think? |
You have to admit things are getting better...a few years a list like that would be unthinkable...no matter what you think of bands like Razorlight or The Kooks (personally I think Naive totally rocks) they have done a lot for bringing 'real' music back into the mainstream. I prefer people to be listening to that than say some Pop Idol finalists or some manifactured Pop group.
I wanna see Jarvis, Lily Allen, Muse and Cat Power bring home some awards... And the lifetime achievement so belongs to the Youth (that would really make me laugh) |
lifetime achievement would actually belong to the fall, but whatever.
So,if Razorlight and The Kooks have brought back 'real' music(whatever that means) where has all the 'unreal' music been disposed in?
It was all sold off a stall in Walford Market.
same old shite there then
except a different year. total bollox |
What i mean by 'real' music is music that is written and performed by Artists not created like some assembly line Barbie doll (although there will always be an element of that). A few years ago the nominations were things like Westlife, Will Young, Atomic Kitten etc, etc. I'm not saying that bands like Razorlight, The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys are any special or remotely progressive at all. I've just noticed a significant change over the past 2 years from singing groups and pop princesses to singer/songwriters and bands dominating the airwaves, the charts and awards.
