Jesus And Mary Chain to reform ?
Why can't you delete the first post in a thread of your own making, if you decide that that thread was a mistake? I should have the authority to do so, I think.
i know a kegmama who will be very pleased.
i love this!
I'd only like it if they played material up to the quality of their first few records. I don't want some half-assed reunion album
JAMC are one of the greatest bands EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Hopefully they'll tour.
They split up for good reason. They were rubbish at the end.
As I posted in another thread recently, I saw them in 1985 and they were breathtaking, and in '96 they were dull. Good luck to them though. I'm sure they need the money. |
They may have been a shadow of their former selves by the time the band split in 99, but I never got a chance to see them live, but now is mt chance, and I will take it!!! I dont care what people say about bands reuniting. If a band wants to reunite, thats their deal. I reap the benefits.
blablabla
I love their old stuff, but their last 4 or 5 albums have been boring rehash. Frankly, I hadn't even noticed they broke up.
i'm excessively playing the lottery these days..
once i hit the jackpot, it'll be "coachella, here i come..." JAMC is one band i owe much to.. much like the pixies reunion, i hope they will hold off any new material for now.. and give the deserving fans something decent.. this is as exciting as it gets..... |
i'm expectant, not excited.
I'm looking forward to it but I hope they won't be rubbish.
i have high hopes that it happens, i saw them on the munki tour in dublin and really enjoyed it
It's pointless but i suppose you have to make ends meet in some way or another.I hope they will do a John Cale when asked why they are reforming and turn to their interviewers saying:'' For the money and nothing else.''
if they come to mexico, i would go see them; i can't think of anything more idiotic than going to coachella so you like the rest of the idiots there try to get a whiff of their sound and a vague look at what their stage banner looks like, if they even have one.
reunions that could top j&mc by miles: my bloody valentine fushitsusha galaxie 500 boredoms spacemen 3 loop that just off the top of my head. ps: like we need yet another british band to talk about how cool they are. |
^
Everyneurotic talks sense, AGAIN. But I'm slowly becoming more and more anti-reformations full stop. What's the point? It's like a band being a tribute act to their former selves. That goes even for the ones that Everyneurotic listed, all of whom I either saw, or would have loved to have seen, in their prime. But if they played those shows again now they'd just be going through the motions. |
They only two bands out of those that i can remotely imagine re-forming and making good and interesting music would be Loop and Galaxie 500.
It seems to appear that fushitsusha haven't really properly disbanded (judging by the Haino thread) and i never knew that boredoms split up. |

EDIT - Has Everyneurotic logged off again? I was hanging around to join in the celebrations of his 5,000th post. |

Exactly. They were too busy making good music to really be that bothered living the whole rock n roll lifestyle. I mean, Hampton's experiments with Main alone would be enough to make a Loop reunion an interesting one. |
