they sound like nme version of liars (from their "they threw us all..." phase) and also quite ambitious. any thoughts & impressions?

"NME version" of liars. That doesn't sound very appealing to me.

Klaxons sound nothing like Liars so i don't know how this comparison came about.

i dontknow what part of that statement to correct first.........

they are bog standard, as bog standard as the rapture became......

it came from some myspace reveiw or something of their leaked album and first song i heard was "isle of her" and that one sounds a bit Liars-ish. i've downloaded the whole album in the meantime, and than "ambitious" statement was sooo wrong...

i had the misfortune of seeing them live last year

I like the singles but I haven't heard the lp yet. There's too much hype indeed but I do think that they're better than Artic Monkeys. The View, Babyshambles and all that lot.
