Nurse With Wound, Part One: NWW/Hafler Trio's "Hit Again" tape
http://shardsofbeauty.blogspot.com/2...nwwhafler.html
First in a series of rare NWW releases... this tape was originally put out as part of Staaltape's documentary series. It was reissued on CD at some point as "The Murray Fontana Orchestra Plays The Hafler Trio", but even that is long out of print. This is the original tape, not the CD. NWW/H3O Hit Again |
Nurse With Wound, Part 2: Lumbs Sister LP
Breaking with tradition here and giving y'all a rare NWW LP. This was part of a 3LP box set along with Sol Invictus and Current 93. The C93 record has been reissued as the Horsey CD, but the NWW tracks are still out of print. Don't know about the Sol Invictus. On the Cerne label, which I think was from Germany. Thanks for this. *Clicks to download*

I have that 3 LP box, but great to get Lumb's Sister digitally for my headphones!
|
whats the best Nurse with wound release to get (ie download) for a new listener?
|
For newbies, I recommend:
Who Can I Turn To Stereo? Stereo Wastelands Spiral Insana Alice The Goon If you like massive tape-collage action, The Sylvie and Babs HiFi Companion is a good one. |
Oh, and....
If you don't like what you hear the first time you hear something by them, keep trying. Their output varies wildly in style and sound, and can be groovy, abstract, abrasive, soothing, hilarious, melancholy or extremely dark by turns. |
id like something that is vaguely familiar in style and form to what i know. I downloaded Homotopy to Marie, and its just totally nuts to me.
thanks for the reccomendations, ill give em a look. |
It's not for the ikara cult-weak of heart for sure but give it a try.Life-changing,if you ask me.I was not so much force-fed them by a friend but his regular weekly tapes made eventually love them.If it's not your kind of thing,it's not and fair enough.

HTM is one I don't enjoy much myself, and I'm a huge fan.
Keep trying! The ones I posted are pretty accessible. |

Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome to me (not Muse) |
Whoa.
Here is a great blog with some great NWW-related stuff. I particularly recommend scrolling down and getting the LP "Belle De Jour" by Chrystal Belle Scrodd (Diana Rogerson of NWW heads this project, but everyone else is involved as well). This is an all time favorite LP of mine, and I highly recommend this to newbies and old fans alike. http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/ I also recommend the Yahowha 13 LP that is up on this page! |
That is one mofo of a blog!I was gonna link you all up to it at one point but i figured out that by following the links to other blogs you'd find it.
Here's one for you Clone: http://shardsofbeauty.blogspot.com/ I'm particularly loving this medium since collectors got hold of it. |
Kick ass.
Thanks again! |
You're welcome. On the other hand i'm loving the fact that Nurse With Wound are becoming a growing 'concern' on this forum. It makes for a refreshing change from the usual suspects(DinosaurbleedingJr etc...)

Cheers Nefeli.

From what I can tell this is all Stapleton, both according to the site and my LP liner notes. http://brainwashed.com/common/htdocs...3.php?site=nww I assume you are talking about the NWW record, as the Sol Invictus and Current 93 LPs have Tony Wakeford and David Tibet on vocals respectively... |
Yeah, I don't know whose voice that is. Doesn't sound like Diana Rogerson though. Must be from the film.

Thanks for the 'Shards' tip. Mutant Sounds is a great blog - he posted my 'New TG' cassettes. Strange tho - he asked me to become a contributor, I sent him a few things but I haven't heard back from him and he hasn't posted what I sent. Something I said? |
