Actors who die young and mid career are always talked about as being a tragic loss but this is one instance where it's definitely true. I'm convinced he was entering all-time great status. He could steal a film with only the minimum of screen-time (Boogie Nights, Magnolia) and had that ability to appear likeable in even the most unlikeable of roles (The Master). I imagine the upcoming oscars will be dominated by acceptance speeches filled with personal tributes that, for a change, actually have some substance behind them.

PSH was such a great actor. Supposedly he had been clean for almost 2 decades and some shit drove him back to the yam yam.

Rob Instigator 02.03.2014 11:57 AM

he was really on a heavy bender

A needle was in the actor's left arm, law enforcement sources told CNN. Police also found several empty bags branded "Ace of Hearts" -- a street name for heroin -- in the apartment, two law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.
Also in the apartment were close to 50 envelopes, branded "Ace of Spades," containing what is believed to be heroin, the two sources said.
Investigators also found, according to the two sources:
• More than 20 used syringes in a plastic cup;
• Several other bags containing white powder;
• Prescription drugs, including blood-pressure medication clonidine hydrochloride; addiction-treatment drug buprenorphine; Vyvanse, a drug used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; hydroxyzine, which can be used to treat anxiety; and methocarbamol, a muscle relaxer.

"The DEA has warned that people who are addicted to opioid prescription pills are now finding highly pure heroin easier and cheaper to obtain."

I actually expected this to happen earlier during the colonization of Afghanistan. 50 bags - how the rich junkies party

When I heard the sad news yesterday I immediately looked over his filmography and was like "Its been awhile since I've seen that, I should re-watch it", doing that for like six of his movies. Thinking over his work I think he had a tendency to play a good-hearted, lonely character struggling for a connection with someone. His presence in movies will be missed and felt. RIP

I highly recommend, 'Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.' (released in 07 (after Capote), the same year as, Charlie Wilsons War.) In the movie, he goes to a dealers apartment to shoot up. Also, a naked Marisa Tomei isn't too bad either.
