Thurston doing some blues on E-Town
|
What the actual fuck.
|
Okay, seriously, I'm in a good mood, so I'm going with this reaction: the guitar solo section is interesting because it features three distinct approaches. I don't think one player is better or worse than another (although these things sort of beg for comparison), they just have different approaches, which I find compelling.

Haha, not your piece of cake? |
I have always thought SY is bluesbased, like most of my favourite music. So this is quite natural. Of course nothing really new, but not bad.

Well, blues changes are ubiquitous as hell, but I wouldn't call Sonic Youth "blues-based". In any case, I find this extremely cool. And for the bluesloathers out there, back in the No Wave days even Lydia Lunch did an all-blues set of tunes picked by Robert Quine. So DIG! |
There's a huge difference between fucking with the source material and doing this well-played but very unnecessary and cardboard barband version of the blues.
Christ Soup, do you even like music? PS- Thanks for the link. |
in self obsessed and sexxee thurston starts the last riff off with a generic blues riff. the "party party party party all the time" part.
