Clinically dead woman kept on life support to incubate her unborn baby
 

the pro-lifers are at it again.

in ireland a woman who has been pronounced clinically dead is being kept on life support machines. they aren't keeping her alive, they are just maintaining some organ function to preserve the life of the woman's unborn child.

the woman's body is decaying. that includes the womb in which the fetus is growing.

this is just fucked on so many levels :(

This case is.definitely.a.contradiction in.values. if we're talking about a dying mother put on life support for several hours in order to safely deliver the.child.that is one thing, but for several WEEKS?

Why didn't Stephen King think of this?

I'll predict that kid will have some serious issues.

The,child will never be born, it'd take another NINE WEEKS at least for the baby to develop enough to survive, its never worked before.. life support is used for situations when babys sre near term enough to be delivered within hours sometimes days. An 18 week fetus wouldnt survive birth....

My eyesight is poor. I read 'unicorn baby', and thought 'cool'.

A unicorn baby would be something to see.
