First time I encountered Keenan was at Subcurrent 05. I was buying I Trust My Guitar from the Volcanic Tongue stall. As I walked away, I almost bumped into him and he looked very irritated and impatient. I thought, what a pompous cunt!

At Instal, Keenan was standing right behind me in the audience during some bland free jazz duo. When they finished, he clapped and whooped long before everyone else had finished. Whooping away right into my ear! It was my highlight of the entire festival!

If you go to the Instal website, you can view a video of Keiji Haino's performance. At one point, there is a close up of Keenan in the audience, nodding his head affirmatively. You can see me sitting just behind him!

I phoned up Volcanic Tongue to ask about the Flipped Out Bride LP. Keenan answered and told me there was none left! Then he said they might get some more in from Thurston!

There is a Glaswegian noise label called At War With False Noise that released a record called David Keenan is my Dick! They were promptly banned from Volcanic Tongue, along with other local labels that they were associated with!

At Le Weekend 05, Keenan was visible at the side of the stage during the whole of Dream Aktion Unit's set, whom he had introduced. He was dancing about, punching the air. He looked awesome.

My pal went to visit the Volcanic Tongue store in Glasgow and reported back that it is so small, visiting it is akin to being in Keenan's living room whilst he spins records and says "what do you think of this?" I have since been obsessed with visiting said shop.

he gave himself record of the week on his website a few weeks ago and has been known to send abusive emails to his competitors.

I was with a mate at a Mainliner gig in the mid 90's in London, and we were convinced beyond all doubt that Keenan had nicked his pack of 20. Naughty!

i think volcanic tongue is really going down hill, the new updates for the last few months just feature 20 or 30 new releases by the same offenders, fag tapes, wolf eyes side projects, yellow swans, skaters, pete nolan, lambsbread and kylie minoise etc
i think the fact that they only stock things based on whether david keenan likes it is going to be their downfall
