What kind of strings do you use?
I'm interested to know what kind of strings everyone uses.
I recently switched to Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkly 11's. It was a neccessary but welcome change as my store stopped stocking Vinci 11's. The Ernie Ball's sound much nicer, especially when tuned lower. |
I make mine out of pipe cleaners. Just shave the fur off them and wind em'.
|
ernie ball regular slinkies .10-.46 and .13-.65 on the other guitar...even though i haven't changed strings in like 2 or 3 years, i wish i was making that up.

I hadn't changed strings in about 8-10 months. I had forgotten how new strings sounded. |
thong floss strings.
actually yeah, ernie ball. haven't had to change em in years. they lasted longer htan my guitar! |
I'm using .10 up standard cheap ones except for the 6th where I use .09 for it not to break for the strain. Tried to use a .10 there but to get to the E tuning as the neck is funny the tension was too much.
Incredibly, they sound really good. My guitar is the responsible I think. |
Usually GHS Boomers .10-.46 for my electric, sometimes ernie ball.
Elixers for the acoustic. |
D'addario 11s or Ernie Ball usually.
|
Earnie Balls, and I use Elexirs on my acoustic.
|
my acoustic has the same strings on them since i bought it 6 years ago
jenn's bass that i am holding on to, ummm those fuckers are rusted, so at least a decade if not longer those have been on there |
I have a crappy hollow body bass that have had the same strings on them since 1994.
|
^My uncle has an acoustic that never had its strings changed, its like from the 70s.I use DR 11's. Why?-Hand made-Long lasting-Easily playble-brightSuit my JM.
|
Dunlop standard gauge. However the fuck you spell it.
|
Strings or picks, my man?
|
oh, i thought this thread is about women's underwear...
|
Super Slinkies.
For acoustic, I use Martin strings (my dad really likes them) |
Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .10-.46
|
usually D'Addario, also Dean Markley Blue Steel
regular light guage for electric usually medium for acoustic |
D'Addario 11's for the Jaguar, and D'Addario 10's for the Squier Strat. For some reason that I'm unable to work out, D'Addario's last for ages whereas Ernie Balls break all the time on my gtrs.

I like GHS Nickel Rockers but they are expensive. Like 8 dollars a pack.
GHS boomers aren't bad, but the Nickel rockers are so much better sounding. I hate Ernie Ball Slinkies. |
